I was JUUUUST replying when that thread got locked falloff

Can't believe ET online is doing a live stream of the burial site. I watched for a few minutes, but I don't think i'll be watching much longer. I don't want to see anymore.

This really sickens me. I haven't watched ET in years & apparently I'm not missing a damn thing. I mean really, is the public that insatiable?? Does anyone have any degree of restraint? You can't even DIE w/ a degree of privacy if you're a celeb. It's fucking sick...

Michael said in an interview that we should all be like Jesus, innocent and child-like. Do you guys feel that Michael's ability to stir so many people to love him/his creativity draws parallels between him and Jesus.

News flash...Michael Jackson invented the "spin"....film at 11..

In all seriousness, no one could spin like Michael, just wanted to poke fun at the great "moonwalk" debate of 2009. I'm done now! lol

And that is FACT.

E.Casanova (the best MJ tribute artist/impersonator I've seen) can't even get that spin formation perfectly. Only Michael Jackson. I LOVE that.....The incredible part is that Michael apparently developed a superhuman neurological resistance to dizziness, lol. He has never looked off-balance or disoriented after spinning. When he did those long 6-8 rotation spins and landed on his knees, he still never appeared dizzy.

Speaking of his knees, I've always wanted to know how they felt when he finished dancing, as well as his head and neck. I've wondered if they were ever stiff or in pain after a show, 'cause along with that knee-drop move, no one can whip their neck back or to the side as hard, fast, and repetitive like Michael Jackson either. NO ONE! lol.

Yeah those spins are very hard to do! confused I was good for about four or five of them when I was younger but the way Michael did them, it was like "the fuck!?! I can't go that fast, Michael!" falloff

Just plain disgusting:

Michael Jackson’s Memorial Service: The Least You Need To Know

This morning, pop icon Michael Jackson will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial in the Hollywood Hills. The funeral, expected to a be a private affair, will be diametrically opposed to the star-studded memorial to follow at the AEG-owned Staples Center. Here’s what you need to know:

What’s going on, exactly?

AEG Live, the concert-promotion arm of AEG, was originally scheduled to stage 50 concerts by Jackson before his untimely demise. The organization is now hosting a musical memorial extravaganza dedicated to the artist at approximately 10 a.m. PST.

Who’s performing?

Among others, Mariah Carey, Usher, Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson and Jennifer Hudson are all slated to participate. Beyoncé and Whitney Houston will reportedly make appearances as presenters, but not performers.

What family members will be in attendance?

People reports that “lots and lots of family” will be coming — “We’re talking about 300 cousins and 40 grandkids and great grandkids and some of the old acts the Jackson 5 used to perform with, like the Chi-Lites will be there.”

Who will not be there?

Jackson ex-wife Debbie Rowe will not be in attendance, after previously RSVP’ing yes. Jacko pal Elizabeth Taylor also declined to participate, Tweeting: “I cannot be part of the public whoopla. And I cannot guarantee that I would be coherent to say a word. I just don’t believe that Michael would want me to share my grief with millions of others.”

How can I get a ticket?

If you haven’t already picked up your winning lottery ticket and wristband, you’re out of luck. And don’t bother looking on eBay or Craigslist — the auction giants have said they will not tolerate resales and have been yanking listings as they go up.

What if I really, really want to watch it?

Well, in addition to the sure-to-be-endless network and cable tv coverage, Hulu and MySpace will be live-streaming the event online. Additionally, Cendigm, a digital events company, has arranged with the Jackson family and AEG to broadcast the high-def goings-on in 88 movie theaters — accommodating approximately 17,000 people.

Sounds like a big deal. Who’s paying for all this?

The added security and post-event cleaning are estimated to set the city of L.A. back up to $2.5 million. Perfect for the cash-strapped city!

Well, even Dr. Cornell West spoke about "similarities" last week, and he is a minister and theological historian.

But, I don't want to compare them. All I know is, Michael tried his best to follow the path and teachings of Jesus Christ. MJ has stated this before. I suppose the world's reaction to him is evidence that he was successful.....

It can't be Michael because it isn't moondancing.

It is a long hall lined with windows. The "ghost" is clearly the shadow of someone walking by the window. I don't know if a ghost would reflect on the floor the way the shadow is. Not knocking anyone's belief in ghosts...just anyone's belief that the shadow in that image is a ghost.

well the only thing I think is a nice gesture is giving those afar a chance to be with other fans to view. Adam Clayton Powell Center in NYC will set up jumbo trons outside. I personally will be here to be in private.

at least from what I understand I might be wrong he will be laid to rest prior to the Staples center.Unless the family changes their mind.... or puts up a decoy casket. sad

This is a technique known in dance as spotting. It keeps you from getting dizzy when you're doing a tour or turn. Classically trained dance personalities always remarked how Jackson was the best natural dancer they'd ever seen; he incorporated classical and jazz techniques into his signiture routines so easily it was like the man came out the womb straight into a dance studio. The speed at which he does his 6-8 turn spin is almost equivilent to half the record 32 turns performed in the 19th century ballet Swan Lake, he was that damn fast. Even legendary ballet danseur Najinsky could only crank out 4 turns maximum during his entire career (although his were en l'air, aka in the air). I guess with Mike, we've seen one of the last great dancers in popular entertainment. He belongs in the ranks of Fred Astaire and the great Sammy Davis Jr. I can't think of any young pop stars to today who should remotely be mentioned in the same breath as them. We've set the bar too low for what it takes to become a pop entertainment icon today. The one good thing that's coming out of Jackson's death, is that in re-visting how talented he was we're faced with how pale the generation after him is in comparison. In a perfect world this would inspire these younger performers to aim for a higher standard in their work and performance ethic....but somehow I doubt it will... lol
