Well fans still love the Thriller video, myself included. Maybe out of respect , they just won't wear/purchase these T-shirts, but you never know. I mentioned this before, a Gay Teen Dance club I used to go to would play the Thriller video as the last song. People on the dance floor would scream and get excited while it was playing . Good memories..

It said on BBC radio that the funeral ceremony is taking place round about now.

On The Tom Joyner Radio Show, they say the family hadn't heard from Prince. I wonder if he will attend the service.

Why do people keep talking about a FUNERAL like this?

I keep seeing people all happy and excited about watching or attending, you do realise the man is DEAD, leaving behind 3 young children, never to make music or set foot on stage again.

He's GONE FOREVER and you're celebrating?!

mad

My gosh man. finally somebody with some sense lol I find it very weird that people were excited about winning tickets to the memorial. Celebrating his life and legacy is one thing. but his death? come on.

The whole thing is creepy the family should not be doing this at all.

Has anyone seen Janet go in yet? I saw Randy and Jackie. I'm watching CNN online and cannot see much. They keep focusing on the Staple Center.

Tom Joyner does not know anything he is the biggest ass on the radio. Not surprised he would use the tradegy of Mike’s death to take a shot at P or any artist for that matter.

I asked because they showed the family going into the Cemetery for the ceremony and I didn't see her.

no one is worshipping him. this is the last time his family will see and touch his physical body- it's a sad time- no one should be reprimanded for grieving the death of a loved one...

That's what I'm saying. I know Tom has a lot of insight, but I'm sure that he is not that tight with the Jackson family.

I did hear him mention this morning how a few Jehovah's Witness ceremonies had taken place of the celebrities that he has known that have passed (Gerald Levert and Sean Levert). He said it was different because they believe that you will come back. It may not be as a human, but as a tree or other object or person.

what i don't understand is if some people are sick of all the noise over michael jackson's death, why do they waste so much of their valuable time bitching about how tired they are of hearing about it, or how overrated his death is, or how people are out of hand with their idol worship. why not ignore it? let the people who give a damn go ahead and give a damn, who are they hurting? turn off the tv. turn off the computer. open a book. go take a walk. your complaining isn't going to make the mania stop. it's just going to make you more irritated, and it's only going to make other people more irritated with you. try being part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

Tom Joyner is one of the most long standing, respected radio personalities in the black American community for 35+ years, as well as one of the premier philanthropists for American HBCUs which Michael was known to be a generous supporter of. Michael gave alot of money to Joyner's efforts through the years and Joyner has a very respectful (on and off-air) relationship with that family. It's not unreasonable that he has a line of communication to the family, either directly or via a mutual business colleague or friend in the Jackson family's presence even at this difficult time. There are, in fact, several members of the Jacksons' familial and friend circle who have permission to speak on their behalf certain to American press outlets from within the Jackson compound in Encino. If you listened to certain American radio stations you would know this already. hmm. They've been very open with having their family and legal reps call in to give udates to long-standing friends in the media. some of it clinical and cold, and other interviews very poignant with the appropriate amount of info on the family's personal status right now. Just sayin'...

I can't believe they are going to have his casket there! Why? I think that with everything already being crazy, that would just fuel the fire. disbelief

Maybe he didn't use "resurrection" because he didn't want to come across as religious, I don't know.

Well, they keep saying how MJ wanted his funeral to be like James Brown's. Also, maybe to prove a point to the public that he really is dead.

This is on my Yahoo page right now, I'm kinda shocked. Something tells me that unless it's open casket (which seems incredibly morbid somehow), they might not necessarily have the actual body there...that feels a bit waaay out even for the Jackson family....
