From what I hear of the song, Miles Away sounds alright. Better than that 4 Minutes shit. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

"Im going to kick your ass, but it's going to make you feel good". That's how Madonna introduced her 11th studio album Hard Candy. "The title is a juxtaposition of tough and sweetness... And of course I love candy!" After her successful future disco record Confessions On A Dance Floor, she teamed up with some of the biggest names in today's hip hop scene: Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland & Danja. "I think Pharrell is a natural musician. I like his inventiveness - he would grab my acoustic guitar, which he couldn't play, but start playing percussion on it. He would find bottles and start playing them with spoons. [...] I can totally relate to Justin as a songwriter. We would sit down together and say OK, let's come up with a concept. What story do we want to tell? We would riff off to each other and play with words. He likes to play with words and the rhytm of words and so do I. [...] I felt more introspective because I was writing with Pharrell and Justin. On Confessions, I just wanted to make a frivolous dance record, but with this one I had to dig deeper and go to a different place... For me, it's a true collaboration, intellectually and artistically." Madonna named Justin's second album FutureSex/LoveSounds as her main inspiration, which was produced by Timbaland & Danja. The record will be released worldwide on April 29th, 2008 (some regions will receive it on the 25th or the 28th). It will be her last studio album released under Warner Bros. Records. A special edition of the album will be released at the same time. The lead-off single is 4 Minutes, which is a duet with Justin and was produced by Timbaland. The opening track Candy Shop, which was the inspiration behind the album title, is supposedly one of Madonna's favorites. This song leaked on the Internet in 2007 already. An early version of Beat Goes On also leaked but was later reworked, including a rap by Kanye West. Early signs suggest that Give It 2 Me & Miles Away are considered as follow-up singles. 1: Candy Shop 2: 4 Minutes 3: Give It 2 Me 4: Heartbeat 5: Miles Away 6: She's Not Me 7: Incredible 8: Beat Goes On 9: Dance 2Night 10: Spanish Lesson 11: Devil Wouldn't Recognize You 12: Voices 13: Ring My Bell* *JAPANESE BONUS TRACK. 1: Across The Sky 2: La, La (The Coffee Song) 3: Ring My Bell* *JAPENESE BONUS TRACK. Let's go Aye. This song comes from the Pharrell sessions. The hip hop influenced catchy track leaked online in September 2007. It is widely believed that the version on Madonna's new album Hard Candy is practically identical to the leaked version. It's rumoured that Madonna wants Candy Shop to be a future single. The theme of the first official Warner listening party in December 2007 was heavily inspired by Candy Shop. 4 MINUTES Music video was filmed in late January, 2008. To be premiered in late March. This is the first single from the album Hard Candy. It's sung as a duet with Justin Timberlake, combined with Timbaland's signature heavy hip hop beats and his usual shout-outs. Lyrically the song is a sexual but playful teasing between Madonna & Justin. The single debuted on radio on March 17th, to be released as a digital download on March 25th and will be available as a physical single on April 21st. GIVE IT 2 ME (Rumored to be the next single.) [...] When the lights go down and there's no one left I can go on and on [...] Give me a record and I'll break it Give me a bassline and I'll shake it [...] Give it to me No one's gonna stop me now [...] Get stupid To the left, to the right. This song is rumoured to be considered as second single. It's a very catchy and uptempo track that has a retro '80s funky vibe. Pharrell backs up Madonna with some vocals. HEARTBEAT [No lyrics available yet.] MILES AWAY (A sample of the song was played on Japanese TV yesterday.) [...] You'll always love me more, miles away I hear it your voice when we're miles away You're not afraid to tell me, miles away I guess we're at our best when we're miles away So far away, so far away, so far away, so far away... I just woke up from a fuzzy dream And I never want to see the things that I have seen I looked in the mirror and I saw your face You looked back through me (from/you were) miles away All my dreams - they fade away I'll never be the same If you could see me the way you see yourself And pretend to be someone else [...] SHE'S NOT ME [No lyrics available yet.] INCREDIBLE [No lyrics available yet.] Madonna on this song: "That's not about my career, that's about a relationship. It's not even necessarily about me, but it's the idea that often at times we take people for granted and we lose our sense of appreciation for them. Then something goes wrong and all you can think about it is how you want to get it back to the way it was, because it was incredible. So sometimes you almost have to lose something before you can appreciate it." BEAT GOES ON P: So what? M: Let's do something different P: Yeah M: Let's change things up P: OK M: I'm tired of doing the same old thing P: You and me both M: Let's give people something to think about P: Here we go Here comes the sun (Here comes the sun) I'm tired of coming undone (Oh, coming undone) There's been so much darkness Too much of the time I think its a sign (Must be a sign) Here comes the rain (Here comes the rain) Wash away all the pain (Wash away the pain) Coming together, going apart I want you to stay (Hope you wanna stay) Always the bridesmaid, never the bride Two steps behind, you've got too much pride Always supporting, never the star (Never the star) Get it together, 'cause the beat goes on On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes Here comes my hand (Here comes your hand) Take it while you can (Take it while you can) I'll throw you some rope If it will give you hope Want you to understand (Understand) Here comes your smile (Here comes your smile) Hope it stays for awhile (Stays for awhile) You know it's contagious It might sound outrageous But I feel so alive (Feel so alive) Always the bridesmaid, never the bride (Never the bride) Two steps behind, you've got too much pride (So much pride) Always supporting, never the star (Never the star) Get it together, 'cause the beat goes on On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes I can't keep waiting for you I can't keep waiting [Take it down] Anticipating that you Will keep me waiting [Take it up] I can't keep waiting for you I can't keep waiting [Take it down] Anticipating with you 'Cause see the beat goes on Always the bridesmaid, never the bride (Never the bride) Two steps behind, you've got too much pride (So much pride) Always supporting, never the star (Never the star) Get it together, 'cause the beat goes on On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes [Take it down] On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes [Can't keep waiting for you] On and on and on the beat goes On and on and on the beat goes [Take it down] On and on and on the beat goes Instrumentation I can't keep waiting for you I can't keep waiting [Take it down] Anticipating that you Will keep me waiting [Take it up] (Can't keep waiting for you) I can't keep waiting for you I can't keep waiting [Take it down] Anticipating with you Cause see, the beat goes on. This song comes from the Pharrell sessions. It leaked online in August 2007, catching most fans off guard. According to fansite reports, Beat Goes On was re-recorded after the leak by Madonna & Pharrell in October 2007, with adding a rap by hip hop superstar Kanye West, for Madonna's new album Hard Candy. It is believed that the song sounds completely different and almost all of the lyrics were rewritten. The lyrics on the left are from the first version. DANCE 2NIGHT (Madonna:) Move your body Get me from across the floor Everybody's watchin' But I just wanna give you more Don't care bout nothin' Im fallin' for your love in the worst way (Justin:) Move closer I can feel your body rise The heat from you And I just have to fantasize We're all alone now And I don't care what people have to say (Madonna:) You don't have to be beautiful To be understood You don't have to be rich and famous To be good You just gotta give more more more Than you ever have before Let's dance tonight dance tonight And groove around the world Dance tonight, dance tonight With a boy and with a girl I wanna dance tonight, dance tonight (Madonna & Justin:) Do it, do it Let me turn you on Let the music pull you through it Til the break of dawn Do it, do it While the night is young Let the music pull you through it Til the lights go on In our zone Do you wanna take it further And before too long Gonna start to wonder Are you a one trick pony Or do you wanna ..... (Madonna & Justin) I'm so into you... I've heard it all before What should I do? Get me on the floor Don't spoil this moment Cause talk is cheap I don't have time to waste (Madonna:) You don't have to be beautiful To be understood You don't have to be rich and famous To be good You just gotta give more more more Than you ever have before Let's dance tonight dance tonight And groove around the world Dance tonight, dance tonight With a boy and with a girl. SPANISH LESSON [No lyrics available yet.] DEVIL WOULDN'T RECOGNIZE YOU [No lyrics available yet.] This song was originally recorded by Madonna in 2004 as "Even The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" & she planned to perform it on the Re-Invention Tour. It failed to make an appearance on her "Confessions on a Dancefloor" album the following year, as well. VOICES [No lyrics available yet.] Madonna described this song as a "psychological mind fuck" which questions who's the master or slave, if you're walking the dog or if the dog's walking you. Candy Store: Yes, the same Madonna/Pharrell production that suddenly leaked on the net last Summer, and did even got spins on the radio around the world since then. Candy Store is probably the song even the fans who usually remain spoiler-free when a new Madonna record comes out heard about. "You'll have an hard time telling if the first one is any different from the version you already heard" - an insider source told us about the song. The only thing that changed somehow was the song's name - as fans have always been calling it "Candy Shop". 4 Minutes: Of the lot of songs produced by Timbaland and Justin Timbelake that M-Tribe reported about shortly after they had their final mixing in Hit Studios Miami in November, 4 Minutes is possibly the one with a stronger "classic" Timbaland vibe. The song has an instantly catchy vibe, with percussion layers and hypnotic synthetized pads. While in other tracks of the album Justin can be heard on backing vocals, 4 Minutes is actually a duet as in this song's verse Madonna and Justin basically sing one line each or better answer one to another on a back and forth basis. Give It 2 Me: A song produced by Pharrell Williams, a very catchy uptempo track that reminds of early Madonna tracks such as "Love on the run". Fans who were worried that this album would be too hip-hop were happy to learn that it's very 80's in its structure and it's pure Madonna. The "Give It 2 Me" phrase has nothing to do with a supposed "sexual content" as rumoured on a few Madonna forums, but it's said in the sense of "I'll handle the situation for you". Pharrell's also singing backing vocals on part of the second verse and Madonna reprises a couple of lyrics from "The Beat Goes On". The break is very strange, the song basically stops suddenly while Madonna says "Don't Stop It" the male voice says "to the left, to the right". This song is currently considered as the second single release. Heartbeat: The album's 4th track, is the first moment of quiet after a three track sequence of dance stompers. Not exactly slow but rather paced down, the song is another production by Pharrell, who can be heard on the track with whispers and brief interstitials, while Madonna sings the lead voice in the verse and the backing vocals as well in the chorus. The "see my booty get down" part is already set to be a hook. Miles Away: Another Timbaland/Timberlake production, that some consider the best of the whole bunch. A hit written all over it and classic Madonna. Full of acoustic guitars, beautiful uptempo, the song structure may recall "Love Profusion" but it's much better. A bit of sadness in the lyrics, talking about a relationship that is at its best when the two lovers are thousands miles apart. She's Not Me: A unique song, possibly the best of the album, certainly Madonna at her best. "Better to listen to it rather to talk about it. You could even say it's two songs in one, and you'll figure out why when the record hits the stores", we've been told. The song has different sound from the rest of the album and it's the one most similar to the style of Mirwais even if it's produced by Pharrell Incredible. A recent addiction to the final album tracklisting, Incredible is a rather different song - the longest in the album, running over six minutes. Starts as a bare-naked track and reportedly goes on between a series of breaks ending up being quite dense and somehow loud and noisy. Beat Goes On: Somehow the second track from the Pharrell recording sessions that leaked on the net on Summer 2007 did not make the album cut as the "new" Beat Goes On is a completely different song, and sounds nothing like the version some of you might have heard. It is much faster, a classic dance track and one of the strongest takes on the record, and it does even feature a special guest. While Madonna was putting the finishing touches to her new albumat RecordPlant studios in Los Angeles, Kanye West was working on the new Michael Jackson record. Pharrell invited Kanye in the room and Madonna came up with an idea for Kanye to rap on one of her songs on the spot... and thanks to this Beat Goes On got a very catchy rap insert courtesy of "Mr. West" towards the end. Dance Tonight: A song that sounds like the funkiest song of the lot. You could say it's a dance track from the beginning to the end - there's dance in the title, dance in the theme, dance in the lyrics, and dance in the instrumentation. It has a captivating late 70's - early 80's disco sound - fingered bass, clĂ ps, triangle - recalling songs that made the history of dance as we know it and groups like Kool & The Gang, Skyy, Delegation, even a bit of the early Michael Jackson and huge references to the signature sound of Narada Michael Walden and to the origins of disco-rappping. Spanish Lesson: Many years after recording "Who's That Girl" and the full Spanish versions of her hits "You'll See" (Veras) and "What it feels like for a girl" (Lo que Siente La Mujer), Madonna is digging back her love for Latin culture as she will be singing again phrases in Spanish in one of her new songs. In this track the Queen Of Pop is going to give Spanish lessons, explaining the English meaning of Spanish phrases such as "te quiero" (I Love you), "callate" (shut up), "besame" (kiss me), and many more. Spanish guitars are of course also present in the song, produced by Pharrel with a nice urban feel. Devil Wouldn't Recognize You: Also known by fans only as "Even the devil wouldn't recognise you" this amazing ballad will instantly remind you of Justin's "Cry Me A River" but also of Madonna's "Power of Good-bye" also including a short piano interlude between verses and will instanly hook you up. "Oh, and remember to have your umbrellas ready", we've also been told. Voices: Produced by Timbaland and Timberlake, and featuring a strings pad that goes along the entire song making the verse and the awesome chorus flow seamlessly. Simply, the perfect song to end the album. Or maybe not... That's pretty much everything, so far! [Edited 3/18/08 17:04pm] Stuck like glue!

Yeah,I heard that 50-second clip. It's very hard to judge the song based on that low quality clip, but I have a few observations.... ***The song features real drums, which is a nice touch.Listen to those drums just before the pre-chorus. ***Madonna's vocal on "Give It To Me" is very loud and prominent....she sounds really aggressive, especially on the chorus when she makes it clear that "No one's gonna stop me!". ***The track is electro/dance,with no trace of hip-hop.It definitely has an 80s feel. Those fans who were worried that this CD will be too hip-hop,they will love this track. This song wouldn't have sounded out of place on 'Confessions'.

I just listened to 4 Minutes again to see if I'd like it this time and I still think it sucks. It's typical Timbaland shit. There's nothing on it that grabs me. I think I'd like it if the song was sped up a bit cause it felt like a long 4 minutes, IMHO. I hope the rest of the CD is better than this. So far, after hearing Candy Shop and 4 Minutes (I won't count Miles Away because of the people talking over it), I feel the same way for this CD that I felt when Planet Earth was about to come out, not too excited. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

comparing Planet Earth to this? wow!!! You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna
