Rolling Stone magazine reviews "4 Minutes"

Madonna has taken on many identities during her career,but "hook girl" has never made her resume-until now.With Timbaland's thick,clanging beat in command of the first single from 'Hard Candy',her vocal competes with a blaring marching-band horn riff as she trades lines with Justin Timberlake.The track's urgent,urban thump never hits its peak,but it's a heater! "Super Pop" should have been on 'Confessions' instead of the lame "How High".It's a stronger,better track.Sounds very early-80s.

I love Keep The Trance. But it later became Get Together and Hey You, so i have problems to accept it as a song of its own...

I would replace Isaac and Future Lovers (which is no real song in my opinion, just a sound and it's sampled so i really hate it!) with Fighting Spirit and Super Pop.
History is fun to listen to, but would have been to weak.

the same with Keep The Trance... its electro/dance/pop on its best, but too ordinary for Madonna.

I'm familiar with the version that appears on the "Jump" maxi-single,but that's a remix.I had never heard the original version until now.I'll have to listen to it and decide if it should have been on 'Confessions'.

yeah, but unlike Prince Madonna's recent stuff ain't worse than her oldies. (I think Confessions has 4 of her best songs ever)...!!!

The Special Edition of 'Hard Candy' will not include any bonus tracks,but will include two edit versions of remixes of the first single:

"4 Minutes" (Tracy Young House Mix Edit) 3:33
"4 Minutes" (Rebirth Mix Edit) 3:42

This also means that "Ring My Bell" remains exclusive to the Japanese edition of the album.





Who the hell needs edit versions of remixes that we would already have if we buy the maxi single?! There's nothing "special" about this so-called Special Edition!! Why doesn't she add bonus tracks like "Across The Sky" and "La La"???

I listened to it a few times,and I'm not impressed.The song just doesn't go anywhere.For the most part,I think 'Confessions' is fine just the way it is,but if "How High" was replaced with "Super Pop",the album would be even better.

The first few Madonna albums to have special/deluxe editions were noitious for being all about extra packaing and non aduio/video "stuff. COADF was an iprovement since it included two bonus tracks...(although you had to download one). I'm getting a bit sick of the entire special edition idea when the extras are nothing to shout about...same case with Janet's "Discpline"...basically, it's a promtoinal video which isn't super interesting besides the full "Feedback" video.

I miss good lyrics from Madonna

Of the 3 songs I've heard (4M, CS, TBGO), plus Hey You, I have to say this has got to be her low point as a lyricist. She's using cliches more than ever, and cliches that don't even mean anything. And too many "oooh, yeahs" and crap like that. I mean, honestly, can someone tell me what any of these songs are even about? Especially "4 Minutes"?

I'm still looking forward to the album, but I think I'll shoot myself if it turns out that of the two, I end up being in love with the Janet album (which I am) this year and hating the Madonna album.

It's a shame Madonna can't do something similiar.

the ones that come out a few months later usually have bonus tracks, and usually they're singles to milk the album for album for all its worth with the public.. the ones that come out at the time of initial release are usually pointless and are only packaging to milk the hardcore fans.
