I was sceptical last year when I read about the Timbo/Timberlake and Pharell cowork but I swear I never was one of these guys who complained and said this was going to be her worst album ever. You just had to listen to Hey YOu to tell that not every song with Pharell will end up as a hip hop song...

4 Minutes did it to me instantely it's great, and now Miles Away which proves that this could be one of her best pop-albums ever? I mean... Timbo and PHarell may just have brought a black vibe, but Madonna's songs were black-ish in teh early years as well.
You just have to imagine a strong black woman singing Holiday or Into The Groove, Causing A Commotion...
Not sure about Candy Store... the leaked version from 2007 didn't do it for me, and well... I wonder what the new Beat Goes On will sound like.
Anyway, even if it will sound completely different once again we would have an additional song (the old Beat Goes On) and a look into her creative process !!

I never worry about the producers Madonna works with,so I wasn't the least bit alarmed/disappointed when I heard that she would be working with Timbaland and Pharrell. As she has proven many times in the past, she always gets the best from whomever she collaborates with.Pharrell recently said that "Madonna worked me to death! But you know what? I'm glad that she pushed me,because 'Hard Candy' is some of my best work".Unilke many other female artists,Madonna is always in control. She 's not a producer's puppet. She never loses her own identity."Miles Away" is pure Madonna.

Plus,I'm interested in hearing what these guys came up with.Working with Madonna is not the same as working with...say,Gwen Stefani or Nelly Furtado. This new album was a major challenge for them.

MORE UPDATES...

***Promo tour begins at the beginning of April. The tour will go to Los Angeles,New York and London.Madonna will perform at small clubs in these cities...doing about five songs at each show.

***As for the world tour...it begins in November. The plan is to kick the tour off in Australia.Madonna is already casting for the tour, but she says she is going to use most of her dancers from the Confessions Tour, because they already have that hip-hop dance style already.

Looks like the tour is really gonna happen.Save your money now! lol

It sucks to work...it's incompatible with Madonna.

well the original looks almost penetrative but it fits to the Hard Candy concept. So I like it more than the one you posted... also it looks much more current. Madonna has always made current looking album covers...

I really don't understand the hostility some fans have toward Pharrel, Timberlake and Timberland. If you want to do an album with a hip hop influence, they are at the top of their game and the best at what they do. Why wouldn't she work with them? Madonna's music in the past has had an R&B influence, so it's not such a radical shift for her.Madonna has always been a pop artist making commericial music. Some fans act like she is some avant garde underground artist outside of the mainstream which she never has been.Timberland, Timberlake and Danja did a great job on the Duran Duran album. Hopefully, their work with Madonna will be just as good.

PREACH! clapping

I'll never understand why so many fans are against the idea of Madonna working with R&B producers. From the very beginning, she has always worked with black music styles. That kinda music is her first love. And she's always dabbled in hip-hop styles too (listen to "Waiting" from the Erotica album...that's basically a hip-hop track that she's singing over). As you correctly point out,Madonna is a "mainstream pop artist".As such, she has to keep up with current sounds and styles. She's never been "underground".I roll my eyes when fans complain that she is selling out.I think it's exciting to see her branch out and work with people she's never worked with before. It's scary but fun,and I know we're gonna get an album that doesn't sound anything like the last one. Many artists become lazy and complacent....making the same album over and over. This certainly isn't the case with Madonna.

2. Damn, my vacation to Oz is May-June, and I'll have left Japan by November, so I won't be seeing her shows down under! sad I'm sure they're gonna be a riot!!

I don't think "The Next Best Thing" is that bad. It wasn't really a proper Madonna album. the cover is certaintly better than the movie. Holy shit, did that suck. It's like they take the really awful dramatic moments from "Will and Grace", added yoga, and made it a movie. What the fuck!

Hmmm, suddenly I like 4 Minutes and I find the back-cover very good lol , but I still hate the front-cover and the title-track neutral ...

My faith in Madonna has now been renewed thanks to Miles Away. biggrin

4 Minutes isn't half bad either, but something about it feels incomplete.
