What year was this interaction with Mayte and Prince?

In 2011, yes. I heard about drugs in the 90s from 2 other sources (associates) and both times it was about cocaine. Unfortunately, it was after his passing.

Mayte also wrote something in her book. She said He called her and soundet sad when she came over she said He wouldn't look her in the eyes. She said she found that weird Back then.

Imagine Lenny flying to PP because he hears that Prince's drug problem is getting out of hand? Everyone would know pretty quickly that one celebrity was flying to another celebrities home due to a drug problem. THis would leak in no time. How would prince react? I imagine he would deny it, cut off contact with Lenny and have his PR people tell the public that Lenny was pulling a stunt for attention. The only way LEnny was going to help Prince was privately. Prince didn't have a cell phone. His email was not accessible to everyone. THe dude knew how to put up walls when he wanted to be left alone.

Cut his outer circle a break.

This is a bit of devil's advocate here, but I am going to say it anyhow.

After reading the ROlling Stone article, it was most likely very off-and-on interaction. He even said Prince could be aloof and not call or come around for a year. He also said Prince was very loving as well. I am sure he had his moments when he got pissed at Prince (that keeping him up all night and then not telling him what key they would be playing in moment). I am sure he had his good moments. But any relationship with Prince was on Prince's terms due to his ability to pull out of interaction with folks. People took what they could get and had no choice but to hope for the best when they got word that P wasn't doing too great off in Minneapolis. I totally believe Lenny that they went back years because there are too many people who witnessed them together. He seemed a bit numb during that interview on the day after P's death, even though he said he had come to terms with it. Grief is weird like that though, especially when you are used to absenses from that person. It can take a while for it to emotionally register that you will never see that person again.

I suspect many of Ps relationships went as you stated above. But, not being on the payroll and seeing him "so much", he was certainly in a better position to help P. than you or I! Do you remember right after P. died, or maybe before, there was a story about a woman from overseas that was claiming P. had a drug problem (I think she said it was cocaine). I don't know if any of it was true, but I remember thinking it was just some attention seeker. Still don't know if it really happened, but I can imagine it was one of the only ways to try to get P. help - leak it to the world. Apparently, no one else could help him! sad

Could it be racial that KJ was so quickly given the role of offender On the document?

No.

Perhaps KJ was listed as the offender due to being the first to search for Prince alone?

As for the heaters, with Prince being thin, maybe he was cold. The heaters could also explain where he was in PP. But we don't know if Meron or KJ turned heaters on downstair before they left for the night.

PP was in a bit of disrepair, so maybe the main heating units were not up to par, thus the need for space heaters?

I don't know but it must've been in the beginning of their working Relationship, maybe before her First tour she also received a lot of hate from fans because they said: "She said he did drugs!" well, the only thing she really said was that there were incidents that weren't migraine related and from what we know now, she was right about those incidents when she said: "Now I know it must've been something else."

SO?SO?? Sorry for shouting but the leak might have kept him alive, forcing enablers to stand up.People might have taken a close look at what PRINCE LOOKED LIKE and have concluded that they were on Team Lenny and that LK was a stand up guy who could be TRUSTED to be there for their 'friends' when the chips were down. That would have been a disaster for Prince. Prince didn't want to be found out. In this aspect of his life or other aspects. Quality of life isn't counted just in number of years. For people like Prince it is just as much about the after life, his legacy. You would want to take that away from him?

It was at the time he switched from Prince to Symbol. He said he was sick, she said he was loopy. She said she never actually saw him do drugs but she also said he didn't want her to see it.

It is different for Lovato. Her struggle with substance abuse is part of her image. And that will not help her. Lovato falling off the wagon means money in the bank for her "owners". They will clean her up and let her fall again for as long as it is profitable. And then they will let her die or drift into obscurity.

Yeah and about that OD in 1996 she said: "I want to go back and shake that girl." because she was so naive and believed what he said.

Well, the thing is.....she knows now but that doesn't change the outcome.

Well, if she got one or two real people around she could be saved I guess. But only if people try hard enough.

Lovato does everything some people here would have wanted Prince to do. Open about abuse, have people around her call her out, checks in to rehab. Doesn't help.

A worse disaster than dying alone in an elevator from an OD? If he wanted to die, that's one thing, but if it was all an accident, it's sad and tragic. He
would have had to get over that his secret was out...and no true fans would've cared!!

Yes!!! At least someone could've tried! Screw his image, this was his life we're talking about, and nothing was worth losing that, not his image, not his legacy...nothing. The fact is that faith helps us navigate through this world, but no one knows for sure what happens when we transition. Sometimes we need other's help from going over the edge, especially from drugs.

No, just an untimely death that could've/should've been avoided. Death is part of life. We all know that, but, yes, dying this way is just about the worst thing that can happen to a person!

Thank you for saying this; I know it must be painful. There was no 'celebration' at the end...even if it was purposeful and the elevator was some grand, spooky gesture and the timing ('I'll never go public with rehab and my addiction...I would rather die first') was his last 'will' and testament...it was the demise of a man who had lost all control of the narrative thread of his life. RIP.

Sorry but I don't think its that simple. Even if LK helped expose the public to rumors about Prince, Prince could easily deny it, could double-down, rehire new associates. He didn't want help. No one had his back because he didn't let them have it. There are celebrities who openly asked for help from their associates and even the public and they still died (Whitney Houston). Celebrities like George Michael and Tom Petty died of drugs too. I dont hear their fan base state that the entirety of the folks around either one of those guys disliked them to the point of not caring what happened to them. Its almost like people think that Prince was so damn unlikable that it couldn't be more complicated than just a complete lack of concern.

All I am saying is that it probably wouldn't have worked because LEnny didn't have proof--only speculation and rumor. I don't disagree with interfering or even calling Prince out in an attempt to save him, but he had a lot of power when it came to evasiveness, and he unlike others had a great deal of shame. If he didn't want help, it would almost impossible to give.

And his image was not his life...it was just that, an image and part of that image was not true to his actual life. I'm sad that he got in to drugs, but I never would have judged him for it had I found out and I'm not alone. If his image was truly more important to him than life, that was not an image, that was a prison.

Sure, it was a prison. Those prison walls were high and hard to get over. Prince was never open about his vulnerability. Tom Petty, Whitney, and even George Michael all admitted they had problems. He didn't. He had deniability to such a degree that helping him would be hard even for those who weren't on his payroll and may have really wanted to. PLus, his death came fast after the Moline incident. He functioned pretty well up to that point despite his thinness(2016 was not the only year he had been super thin..2009 was a pretty skinny year). Despite what people have heard about pill usage, they were still blindsided. He didn't have numerous public instances or rehab treatments.

His life WAS his image. It was the thing he had created all by himself. It was the thing that made the world alright to him. Without it he would be just flesh and bones. You act like dying is the worst thing that can happen to a person.

And his image was not his life...it was just that, an image and part of that image was not true to his actual life. I'm sad that he got in to drugs, but I never would have judged him for it had I found out and I'm not alone. If his image was truly more important to him than life, that was not an image, that was a prison.

He had none. No public instances, no rehab treatments.

Sadly, NO ONE HAD PRINCE'S BACK...

You could be right, he could've told everyone to pound sand, but they should've tried anyway. We've had this same conversation before and I still feel the same. "He might tell me to myob, so I'm just going to keep quiet and watch his tragic demise". No! Grow a pair and at least TRY to get through to him.

I never believed his coquetry when he said such things but the discrepancy between it and the way it did happen in the end still couldn't be much bigger..

RIP.

He might have lost control of the narrative, but he took it right back. He took us all by surprise.

Whitney was surrounded by enablers.
