No, it's not. This thread has photographic and social media evidence. Not to mention lyrics and TWO albums that are arguably inspired by Andy Allo.

.

The unverifiable information to which I am referring is supposed letters from Prince to Denise, provided by an in-law who seems to be testing the waters for a book. The authenticity of the said letters has not been established. Just have a look at the thread anangellooksdown posted. There is a reason that photos of that letter with a thread dedicated to it disappeared. That same in-law is quite active on the Vanity and Morris Day thread.

Quite easy to find, actually ..

If he wrote to Vanity while she was in the hospital, and even at other times, that is beautiful. But this is not the letter that disappeared from the thread that I linked. I saw that poorly-written letter with my own eyes. Speaking of links, do you have one for this "quite easy to find" letter?

.

Also, contrary to what this letter implies, from all indications, Prince LOVED long phone calls. Many of his friends and associates maintain that he would call them in the wee hours of the morning and talk for hours.

.

Whatever the case, please don't try to turn this into a Vanity thread. There are already innumerable threads dedicated to Vanity on the org. Innumerable.

This doesn't look like the same handwriting as this letter to writer Neal Karlen that I found online. It certainly doesn't have Prince's signature. Nor does the eye in the letter purportedly to Denise look like P's eye doodle.

Here's another handwritten letter from Prince, this one to George Clinton. Once again, it is signed and the eye looks nothing like the one "to Denise." Also, the lowercase "c" in the letter to Mr. Clinton looks absolutely nothing like the one in the letter "to Denise."

.

I think it's clear that the letter you posted here was not written by Prince. This might fly on some threads on the org, but not on ones that I'm checking. Part of me wants to say GTFOOHWTBS, but I'm not going to do that. I just ask, once again, that you not try to turn this into a Vanity thread. Thanks. heart

Lord have mercy, girl, so many talents ! Now you're an authority on Prince's handwriting. That looks like his handwriting to me. My handwriting isn't the same every single day. Prince liked late night phone calls, yes, but he preferred letters and emails, that's common knowledge. And nobody is wanting to turn this into a Vanity thread, we know how you feel because of her history with our man. If you own the Org, you can say who posts what on any thread here, but since you don't, you can't. Check all you want. And what part of you said GTFOOHWTBS ? The other part ? Don't be rude, slow your roll. You may think you're talking to a newbie but it could be a longtimer. Enjoy your bright pink AA bubble. I know what it's like to be obsessed, it's cool. Peace and be wild, girl. heart

I remember a few weeks ago when you started this thread I came on here rooting you on for your excitement for Andy and Prince. Didn't throw shades at all even though I'm more excited by Prince and Vanity as a couple. I thought Prince and Andy were cute together and was glad to see that Prince seemed so happy in the pictures with her, and said as much. Why do you feel the need to put down her brother in law or another thread to substantiate your claims here? As if this isn't speculation as well. So not cool... [Edited 1/9/17 21:26pm]

Hi, luvgirl. Thank you for your heartfelt reply. First of all, I am also a HUGE Vanity fan. So, please know that I don't mean to put down the Morris and Vanity thread. I think my view of TOB's recent posts on that thread were colored by his earlier thread, "Another Letter From Prince To Denise." Have you read that thread? I only mentioned that thread on this one because it was cited by anangellooksdown. This was the OP:

Another Letter from Prince to Denise

.

I have heard you've been waiting, I apologize for the delay. If I knew how to post images I would post copies or images of all letters pertaining to their relationship.

"The Greatest Romance that's ever been Sold" ??? With her being Eve?

After losing their sister, his pasting meant losing a (large) portion of their sister that had survived. A portion that they felt could some how be provided or explained by him at some later date.

Knowing and fearing how she might have reacted, independently, both DeBorah and Patricia said to me, "Thank Goodness she pasted before he did." I knew what they meant.

Denise has written quite a bit about her feelings and their relationship... and as cryptic as this letter is, in some way it is saying more than she could have told me.

Make of it what what you will, It is what It is, this letter reads:

.

Ahh’m Still Always thinking these thoughts are Yours!

When Forever is perfect…

Being physical will Return to being nothing.

Being nothing shall return too feeling pleasure.

Feeling pleasure will then be something

and

Emotional Self will be all

… the mental self will be.

The way Ahh and you Denise feel will always be important.

Denise Yours

Ahh’m forever thinking in, Denise Your own way, You Denise

are forever thinking too.

Thinking of You Denise has made things easier for me!

Think of me sometimes and

things will be easier for You Denise too.

LOVE

&tar#o

.

After that, it was hard for me to take TOB seriously. Now, three months later, he is all over the Vanity and Morris Day thread. All I can say is that I hope Denise's family is very careful that they don't do anything to sully her legacy.

.

I'm not sure if the letter posted here by ChanGirl is one shared on the org by TOB, or if it came from somewhere else. If TOB did post it, he is doing his sister-in-law Denise a tremendous disservice. That is all. If you would like to talk about it further, please orgNote me, as I hope to try to re-focus this thread on Prince and Andy Allo. Right now, it is far afield. Thank you for understanding. heart

.

But, wait...is that a ring on her left hand on that finger, or is there some sort of reflection creating the illusion of bling? Or...could it be a rear-facing camera making it look like there's a ring on her engagement ring finger? Hmmm... hmmm

How does THIS picture display any type of romantic relationship? I would understand your conclusions if they were in any sort of romantic embrace or even if either of them were touching each other at all much less in any kind of affectionate display, but they are not. Take away the faces on these 2 individuals and you can easily have a picture of 2 friends, 2 relatives or even 2 strangers seated next to each other enjoying a show. Again, I'm not saying they weren't romatincally involved. I'm not a fan of him and any woman in particular. I just find it very amusing how you see anything and everything regarding AA as a romantic indication yet when the same type of information is presented of other women, you dismiss it and refuse to discuss the topic any further.

First, I said this photo dispels the notion that some have that they never did anything together outside of work, paraphrased. Next, I made no mention of romance; although, that does look to be quite an amorous glance between the two of them. Lastly, when have I dismissed such a photo of P with another woman, especially one who appears to be wearing an engagement ring, while on what looks to be an evening out on the town?

Prince could come back from the dead and say he loved fill-in-the-blank and you would not believe him.

Those songs you say are for Andy especially the Breakdown is of a man who loved and lost and had regret. It is not a man who is looking for a new love- he is speaking of the person everyone told him he would be with and it is not a person of a few years; it is a mature man . He is apologizing for the things he used to do

I do not get how you attached Andy to it. It is interesting. I am not saying who it is but it fits a relationship that went through the years and did you ever see the video to The Breakdown with Robert Deniro? The love stories depicted are of a love that spans years and not 3 or 5 years but legit years- like The Way We Were and the Notebook -

It is not that hard.

Pictures and social media are misleading and as many have found in this techno age easy sell bogus stuff to the public esp relationships.

I have no rhyme or reason but for the record the Piana and Mic tours were not about Andy. Last year this time Prince had already lost a good friend Nov. 2015 he knew from way back in High School one of his first girlfriends Kim Upsher. Then we all know the devestation over his friend Vanity dying. I am sorry to bust the fantasy but the reaction was not just a casual Oh gee she is gone.

What was unusual was the downsizing of the tour – Prince arrived in Australia with just three other people: a bodyguard, a sound man and a business manager.

Then, just hours before his first gig, Prince learnt his ex-girlfriend Vanity (real name Denise Matthews) had died in the US, aged 57, due to renal failure. The news of her passing shattered Prince He found out a few hours before he was due onstage Prince and Vanity on the cover of Rolling Stone in 1983. The pair met in 1980, with Prince naming her “Vanity” as he felt looking at her was like looking at the female version of himself. He also created a band around her, Vanity 6, and gave her the female lead in his 1984 film Purple Rain, although the role was re-cast when the pair later broke up. Vanity went on to date Adam Ant and Billy Idol.

The news of her passing shattered Prince. “He found out a few hours before he was due onstage,” says Dainty. “One of the guys around him said, ‘Oh, we’ve got a problem.’ You wouldn’t have been surprised if you’d got the call saying he needs to postpone the show for 24 hours, he’s too much in grief. But he went on. He was very emotional onstage.” During that evening’s show, Prince stated: “I’m trying to stay focused, it’s a little heavy for me tonight,” and later, “She loved me for the artist I was, I loved her for the artist she was trying to be.” Vanity’s death also curtailed Prince’s usual afterparties. “He was grieving,” explains Dainty. “He turned up, he did the shows, he went back to the hotel. The second night in Melbourne he went to a club, but he didn’t perform. He danced a bit until 3am, then left. Otherwise he was at the venue 30 minutes before showtime. We had the dressing room set up beautifully for him. I think he maybe sat in it for 10 minutes.”

TOB is mouring the passing of his loved one and he was not posting anything to place Vanity on the running of who Prince loved best. He was just sharing that Prince was a man of compassion who was a friend over the years to his loved one.

You owe him and that family an apology. The only thing to "sully" her legacy are people who want to discount her due to her friendship with Prince placing a dent in whatever narrative they want people to believe about him and "their" girl.

There are many women in Prince's life including 2 women he married.

It is time dissing on the grave on Denise Matthews who moved on with her life. Prince had her name in his mouth over the years and especially after she died .

If you need to stan for Andy cool, but no way should you even attempt to come for a man who is clearly grieving for his sister-in-law. THAT IS A NEW LOW and so unacceptable. Common decency, decorum and just basic human compassion is needed even on a message board.

You need to apologize to TOB he did nothing wrong and I appreciate he shared a different side to Prince and to Denise.. If by chance it messes with a narrative people are pushing since Prince died so be it but he was not trying to sell anything or push anything just showing the humanity of 2 people who knew one another over the years.

I'm sorry you feel that way, just as I am sorry that some are determined to derail this thread by trying to make it about Vanity. Let me be clear: Denise's passing at such a young age was a real tragedy; however, I don't understand why TOB is publishing her personal effects after her passing. Moreover, if he is going to be publishing letters that are alleged to be from Prince, he should expect people to ask questions about the authenticity of the letters. That is not meant to insensitive. It is just inevitable.

It is a well-known fact that Prince and Vanity shared a deep love in the early 1980s. They apparently kept in contact over the years and he spoke beautifully of her on the night of her passing. No arguments here.

.

With regard to some of the songs (and reflections) of the Piano & A Microphone tour being about Andy, let us agree to disagree, agreeably, please. Peace.
