Andy's big brother Christopher Allo's presence on her social media during her New Year's retreat--intended to help her make sense of "losing Prince" and all that happened in 2016--has me wanting to know a bit more about him. I knew that he traveled with Andy when she was touring with Prince and the NPG, but I didn't know much more. I checked his Instagram and I found this very interesting post from August 1, 2016.

FlyOnTheWall, I've got a question. I've never paid attention to Prince's protégés, so I know little about them. You seem to know a lot about Andy's stint with him, so I'm curious as to what were the circumstances surrounding their parting ? Did he take her as far as he could go and then " push her out of the nest " so to speak or what ?

I think Andy should continue to do just what she has been doing, as she has been a study in grace and dignity. It doesn't hurt to share select memories/music from her time with Prince, like she does on her Music Mondays. And I would love to see her dedicate her upcoming album to him. Beyond that, however, she just needs to keep grinding and shining.

Andy's Music Monday was conducted last evening by her brother Chris. He played live performances of two songs from Superconductor: "Yellow Gold" and "Nothing More." The third song, the audio of which was played twice, was an unreleased track that was also intended for that album, but it did not make the cut. The upbeat dance tune called "Mr. Bravestrong" was written by Andy and produced by Prince. It was hard to hear it very well since he was playing it from, I believe, an MP3 on his computer, but it sounds like P might have even done some background vocals.

Lastly, he mentioned Art Official Age, which, he opined, has several songs written, "about someone who we know and love." He even mentioned "Breakdown" by name. He made it clear that this is just his opinion and laughingly said that he's already in trouble (with his little sister Andy) for playing the Budapest concert clip NYE, so what the heck. Talk about !! That probably explains why the video was removed from AA's Facebook within minutes. I was, however, able to grab a snapshot of the post.

Thanks, bibrose. I agree with every word you have written. Andy had her own career and independent album before meeting Prince. Of course, his support helped to launch her into the stratosphere.

One of my co-workers just returned from the Turks....had pix of P's house at nite. Was also there during the day. She said there was a car picked in the driveway when they were there that evening. Lights were on, but from the couple of pix she had, it appeared to be night lights. She said the house was spread out over the gated property and quite large and off in its own part of the island. Wonder who's car it was?
