D'angetlo doesn't have enough hits to have a "Sampler Set"! Which is the main reason prince has one. Because it's hard 4 him to include EVERY hit he has in his multple repetoire catalog.

Plus teaching those intricate chord pattern in his songs to new band members is a headache.

Eye think the "Sampler Set" idea is a genius idea!

No, the reason for the sampler set is that he's working with musicians who aren't talented enough to play his back catalogue.
'Let's Go Crazy' was slowed down for a reason.

He's been doing the sampler set since 2007, though, even with John Blackwell, Renato, etc.

He's been doing it since the Lovesexy tour as far as I can tell. Of course that was played live with just him and his piano.

So what, that's not saying much, considering how it doesn't take much to make a "superstar" now a days.

When everything's a masterpiece, everyone's a superstar. shrug

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

people sleepin on Willow Smith.... there is definitely some raw vocal talent and charisma there...once she gets past her current teenage awkwardness, she's gonna be major...

I see it too, P...

I agree, right now shes a sheltered rich kid with no boundaries....but when she grows up and gets some adult perspective, she's going to be incredible....jaden too, they are very very smart, although rt now they are insufferable teenagers lololol

Yeah, I'm sure Blackwell was gone when Planet Earth came out & that was 2007.

So yeah, CC Dunham was about as bad as Hannah.

Right, it started with the Dunhams, but Blackwell came back for the Welcome 2 America tour, and Prince was still doing the sampler set. For example...http://www.princevault.co...uary,_2011

Ah okay.

So it started out of necessity & then he got lazy & now it's a necessity again.
lol

I really think he just looks at the Org, sees how much it pisses people off & then keeps doing it.

(That AND his musicians can't play his material.)

And now you're going to act like Willow is more talented than D'Angelo?!?!

troll

disbelief

That comment Eye made was a dig torward a fellow orger in this thread that's obsessed with D.

D is actually my second favorite artist under prince. Mainly because he is VERY HEAVILY influenced by him.D mentioned prince over 15 TIMES in his innerview with Tavis(another thing he copied from prince ) Also very gifted,an excellent keyboard player(my fav instrument eye play also). Also he is a gifted vocalist.

prince is attracted to peeps that DARE 2b different!Like Willow & Jaden(who wears skirts) They both are not afraid 2 b themselves FREE SPIRITS. The Smith's are argubly the most successful black family in the industry. Our heritage should all join 2gether. Like Oprah & Tyler has.

We can take over the WHOLE industry! African Americans are argubly the most gifted race, Our problem is we don't share it among eachother. prince is changing that cycle with his collaboration with Jay Z. Then possibly THE SMITH's!

So, you're saying you don't think Willow is more talented than D'Angelo, you were just saying that to argue with King Sausage? Weird.

As for the Smith kids having talent, just NO. They're vapid little twits that could never survive in the real world.

Sorry, but I disagree that Prince should work with them simply because they're black and Jaden wears skirts. That is what you're saying, no?

It's hard to play every hit live and teaching hard songs to "new" (who in 3rd Eye is new) band members is a headache makes the karaoke sampler set a "genius idea"? Really?!?!?

Exactly biggrin plus,I'm tired of seeing superstar children trying to follow in their parent's footsteps. Why can't these kids go to college and try to become a doctor or lawyer?! You know...something respectable.Talent doesn't always run through the family.
