For the record I've never been one to talk about my professional livlihood. I've been a published writer and journalist for nearly 20 years so petty insults just come with the territory.

But it's frustrating reading someone who knows nothing about the music business wax poetic about a company making a dimwitted business decision by re-signing 1 lone act...

What u have to learn is this is not about touching a nerve....I've done quite alright for myself and I have no reason to live my life through a damn near 60 year old music artist who I have only met in passing. I don't KNOW Prince. Dig the music. Sometimes I feel he's taken his asshole tendencies to new heights. But the one thing I am very careful of is commenting on things I know nothing about. And given that I've been around enough record execs over the years I can tell u that Warner Bros. signing Prince is a mere drop in the bucket for them. I can also tell u that they are looking at the bigger picture....His catalogue....

All this to say I'm trying my best to be cordial with someone who has shown themselves to pretty much be a troll. I hope u can do a little more reading on the subject...A little more research into how legacy acts (Prince) are usually handled by labels....

By the way, AOA has 60 ratings on itunes UK and Plectrumelectrum 35, which considering they are not out yet is kind of interesting... It's not only the org that people decide whether they like an album before listening to it, it's everywhere!

Wow.. maybe he's just messing with us.. or maybe his sensisbilities have changed drastically over the years (JW, Afro, etc) and the new music he's releasing is an expression of where he's at. I guess also we're not teenagers and aren't as easily impressed. Meh, he's still the King. Guess I'll just have to rely on his live shows for that old spark.

I was excited about these releases until I heard Whitecaps & U Know. Very disappointing. I'm sure I'lll still purchase the albums but I most likley won't be sharing them with my friends unless there's some hidden gems on them we haven't head yet.
