Very cool era! The Rainbow Children was a great and unique album. Love all songs, and I think Wedding Feast is very funny lol, but my favorite is Mellow.

I also really really really love the One Night Alone... album. It is so beautiful and pure genius. There's not a song on the album I don't love. The tour was amazing too (from what I could listen to). I really wish I could have gone to the concert in Louisville...

My ONA phase has long passed. I thought the live sound was nice, but I really hate the New Orleans jazz band sound and the dogmatic preaching on the CDs.

The world was waiting for a Prince live album, and ONA should not have been it.

That being said, there are moments on the CDs which are really quite stunning, but they only pepper the album.

I still have my concert ticket stub I posted about that.

Not much of a fan of Rainbow children but I love One Nite Alone. Such a sweet, basic, and sensual album. Objects In The Mirror is soooo dirty for a 2000's song!

Strange and funny that "time"-wise we are more removed right now from The Rainbow Children than The Love Symbol album was from Purple Rain.

I believe what was meant is:

Hence, we're more "removed" from TRC today than The Love Symbol album was from Purple Rain.

Best Prince concert I've ever attended was during the ONA tour in Houston.

Love both of these recordings.

ONA in New Orleans was my first Prince show also. Before the concert we were standing at the back door hoping to get in the sound check somehow. Wasn't a club member at the time. We could hear it some of it. Of course, we much rather have been inside chatting with P.

The concert was great though. I later saw him in Bossier City, LA and also in Minneapolis with Tamar.

Xpectation is an album by Prince, only available for download on his website, NPG Music Club. The album was made available for MP3 download on January 1, 2003 and all the songs are instrumentals.

me too! it is my favorite of all the prince shows i've seen. the palace theater suited this tour perfectly.
