So, do people still listen to The Beautiful Experience EP? I can't find it any more. Must have lost it while moving. However, I do recall that when I bought this, at the height of my fanhood, it was the first time I felt screwed by Prince. Screwed as in taken advantage of, jipped, you know..

It's not something I listen to, I cannot remember the last time I did.

It's a nice little package to have though, I have it on cd and an unplayed vinyl copy. The butterfly insert is a nice wee addition.

It was also the first time I was disappointed with Prince's music. And the fact that it was a success only made things worse, since he tried to repeat it time and time again (I Hate U, Betcha By Golly Wow, The Greatest Romance Ever Sold, Te Amo Corazón). Anyway, some of these tunes were actually better than The Most Beautiful..., in my opinion.

Yeah, it is a pity I lost my copy. I will have to check whether it is still widely available.

I must have seen this, but I don't recall right know. Princevault comes up empty on the tv specials.

What did he play on the special?

It's a mixture of promo videos and live footage.

I liked it a lot at the time, especially the Mustang Mix, but it's been a long time since I've put it on.

The packaging is really cool too.

and how exactly were you screwed by it? it was an ep of remixes. it was never said to be anything else.

and how exactly were you screwed by it? it was an ep of remixes. it was never said to be anything else.

They were IMO dull remixes. The hous remixe of P control on Crusyal ball, as well as Get Loose, I quite liked. These not so much. Plus, I was 13 or so and the thing was damn expensive, considering it's only remixes. The price was that of a regular cd.

Loved that TV special. Even "Loose" seemed to work - though I don't dig the album version!

I heard Race, Sshh, Days of Wild, Papa for the 1st time (I think) on that TV special and was all I watched for about 2 months straight. Would love to get it on dvd now.

You can. The Beautiful Experience by "Fullasoul" is probably the best quality version available.

That and Beautiful are also the only good remixes on The Beautiful Experience. The rest is just filler.

I also like Brian's Mix from the promo. A pity it didn't make the official CD as its better than most of the other mixes on there.

Nice little CD. Wish it had like a B-side or rare non-Beautiful Girl track or something. Love the cover though

Hell yeah! "Staxowax" is truly wonderful, psychedelic, R&B bliss. "Flutestramental" and "Sexy Staxaphone And Guitar" are quite enjoyable as well. Damn, I miss those warm, lush, yummy, trippy, soulful mixes. Pure ear candy!
