One Nite Alone tour

Don't you wish Prince would do something exciting like that era again? Rainbow Children, Xpectation, One Nite Alone album, NEWS... the tour... great days! And even better bootlegs!

Yes, when the emphasis was on music, not showing off gold guitars and millionaire friends.

When the emphasis was music and songs being played properly, not a band at the end of a remote control in the hands of a five year old with attention deficit disorder.

I like it too. Most people don't like the way he filmed it. I thought artistically it fit-Using the camera's in a way like jazz musicians play their instruments. (Although, I agree with most people-the whole concert shown would have been better.)

I'm interested in how the cameras were used in a way that jazz musicians play their instruments.

You mean badly.

It was a badly filmed, badly edited, poor quality mess. A turd of an official memento from a great tour. It could have (should have) been brilliant.

^^ Still, at least there are many great quality bootleg recordings to compensate.

The go with the flow-randomness of it all. (Forget about what you've been taught-think out of the box.) I'm speaking artistically of course.

I just think that from such a critically acclaimed tour, Live At The Aladdin is a very poor representation of a great period in Prince's career. And i think it is a shame that for the people who do not go searching for bootlegs etc, this dvd release is the only visual thing that they have to remind them of such a great tour.

The Xenophobia collection is a great set indeed, even though that the Celebration was not officially part of the ONA tour.

Some fantastic perfomances on that set, the setlists are fantastic, the acoustic set, Sheila's set, all great stuff, it must have been really something to be there.

Also, say what you will about The Rainbow Children (i love it btw), but surely it's better than the Planet earth, 3121, 20ten formula albums? TRC is a lot more interesting, very exciting to see Prince do something like that

I think all of his live shows are great. I would say that this was the last tour that highlighted new music for sure. The rest of the shows have been GH tours (for the most part).

Objects In The Mirror

That's my favorite time with U
Just after we make a movie
The kind that requires the title:
"Parental Advisory"

Let's brush our teeth in the same sink
Don't worry girl, it's cool
We can pose in the mirror
I'm diggin' U diggin' on me, yeah, an' me diggin' on U

We hooked up now, I can try her
I can put my load in the dryer
So much we can share
The same height, weight and body fluid
We've hooked up now, we can do it

I've been waitin' baby (I've been waitin', been waitin')
But it's so hard 2 bear
But the objects in the mirror (But the objects in the mirror)
The objects in the mirror (The objects in the mirror)
Are closer, closer, closer than they appear

Well I went to a few of the 3121 shows and he sang a few tracks from the 3121 cd in terms of new music. I would have love to experience ONA live. I prefer a smaller venue Prince show and hope he does more of those soon.
