Love this track, but i'm sure this track is called 'Lay IT down' not 'Lay down'

Yes, the song may be called Lay Down but they are most certainly saying "Lay it down."

on the backcover it is saying Laydown. so the track is named laydown, but I agree with u. some places i strongly feel they're singing "Lay It Down" and even "WE need 2 lay it down".

we a in reference to "The World"

I feel this song is a "Dear Mister Man" speach in away.

and Boo is the mister man.

C'mon BOO mad

the leader BOO need 2 learn from how the Purple Joda leads his "world"

and not the other way araound.

Your speaches are not the once we lisen to... or we don't dance after your tunes... or... we don't ever cear, "We're tired of yall"

I'm just thinking lowd here...sorry

amazing. wish the whole album was like this. total shame but i bet he'll never play this live

it sounds like it gets cut short, there is no coda. it might be from a session like the 3121 songs not fitting right in lotusflow3r (hopefully a new album in this vein)

Underrated. Oddly made me nostalgic for 90s era Prince. Sonically the most interesting thing on this set.

You might want to look again. The word Laydown is written in large gray letters underneath the rest of the track list.

Far and away the most interesting track on the album! I enjoy most of the album, but when I got to this, like others he, I was like "What?! Why didn't he do the whole album with this kinda style?".

Me and my co-producer sat down to listen to 20Ten and, whilst we enjoyed most of the cuts, occasionally commenting that it was "classic Prince", NOTHING piqued our ears like Laydown did - we were both just floored and then kinda disappointed that there wasn't more of the same.

Hopefully, it is a sign of an album to come.

...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

I think this was a hidden track because the main album sounds like retro Prince, and the hidden track is a very modern sound.

So he's saying here's a record that will take you back to my 80s albums but I can do modern stuff too.

I hope this will be the sound of a new album. He sounds so convincing on this track!

Although I love the Sticky Like Glue & Lavaux retro sound too.

it's pretty obvious that he's saying "rio de janeiro"

my guess is that it's simply:

"rio de janeiro, euro and sunamero"

as in rio, europa and japan (since sunamero is in japan, right?)

just kind of saying it's a global party.

1st time I heard the song I heard the obvious thing (obvious is not normally a word I use refering to Prince) I hear Rio de Janeiro, Euro and soon De Mero... I knew something was wrong with what I heard... De Mero .. that's nothing... right?

The 1st lyrics posted here in this thread gave me "Rio Da Damaro, Euro and ....???" (the person that posted it couldnt figure out the last part either, but still it made more sense 2 me.

I now had 2 Currency values... so I now need 2 look find a 3rd currency name that could fit.

Some1 here at this in this thread gave me Amero. I was was please with that... it fit 2 what I heard (almost) , and it ment something... but I was not comfy with that line still...

it did'nt make any sense in the lyrics.

1001 idea went through my mind... brainstorm

I'm always asking why why why why ... The Curious Child and Prince is the why and mystery)

I'm very please with your answer "Rio De Janeiro, Euro and Sunamero". That's if it is a place in Japan named Sunamero??? did you spell it wrong? Can't find anything on googlemap.

about the meaning... "Global Party"... I was thinking "Global Release" when I had "Rio De Jainero, Euro and soon Amero" biggrin so it's almost the same thing.

I NEW something was wrong with BOTH "Rio De Jainero, Euro and soon Amero" and "Rio di Danaro, Euro and soon Amaro"

Please post correct spelling of Sunamero.

is it a MountainCity like Lavaux??

I love the name... SunAmero... wonder what that means in Japanese???... (thinking loud)

Thanks cool

I just took it he was just trying to flow with the song and threw in a nonsence word. Not usually Prince's thing, but I think people are way overthinking this

yes, I agree, and that is the mainreason I can't drop It...

throwing in non-sence words is NOT Prince, he would rather make a new word, that probably would bcome slang in some years lol That's also why I thought it was funny if it was "Rio De Danaro"... lol

but then again... this might B Musicology 4 the horrid Electromagnetic popheads that's on the Radio that makes yo teeth gnash (ref 2 Compassion) lol

and then it's not non-sense it it??? then he did it on purpose, right? lol

I'm sorry I just find it amusing lol
