I put this song first and trimmed the starting time for Compassion. Added some MPLSoUND tracks and removed all the ballads. Now I have a disc I can groove to from beginning to endlessly.

1. Laydown

2. Compassion

3. Beginning Endlessly

4. Sticky Like Glue

5. Act of God

6. Lavaux

7. (There'll Never Be) Another Like Me

8. Everybody Loves Me

9. No More Candy 4 U

A+ album. smile

Looks good! I would replace Compassion with Ol'Skool Company. They flow well together, followed by Beginning Endlessly, all in the same vein. No Another Like Me, replace that with Dance 4 me. Classic Album indeed!

I love this track and would go as far as to say this would have made a great opener. If this is an indicator of what's to come then I'm happy. Love the vocal, guitar. phat bass

This really should've replaced the previous track to my ears. cool

Funny but true story. I went to church today, and when I opened up the song section of the song book, I saw the title of a song called, "Lay It Down". lol

Now I know Prince's new song is called, "Laydown", but the titles are so similar that it made me kinda smile to myself. And of course, right away, the song started playing in my head. I could hear Shelby singing, "U need 2...U need 2...U need 2 lay dooown". lol Funny how every day things can sometimes make me think of a Prince song.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I'm loving this track more and more each time I hear it.

I've read a few people say that this should be an opener and I agree, I even think it was intended that way at some point. It ends far too suddenly to be a closer and almost demands something to follow it. I've put it at the beginning and having it play straight into Compassion feels completely right to me.

I've wondered if he wanted this to open but felt that Compassion was a more accessible opener for the masses. That's why there's a huge gap before it at the end of the CD. If you play the album on repeat, there's a long gap and then it's pretty much the first track of any repeats as it's the beginning again immediately after it finishes.

RIP sad

Laydown is that FIYAH!!!!!!! My God, is this song SMOKIN! Damn, I just love this song like I don't know what man! lol This song is a smash hit waiting to be heard by the masses! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I said it in the Compassion thread but I'm glad this song wasn't the opener to 20TEN. I think the song is just so explosive and it's so different from the rest of the album, that the other songs on the album could have felt like a letdown after this one because of the bigness, for lack of a better word, of this song, no matter how good or great the other songs are. It's best as THE last song on here. I hope that Prince re-releases this album so that this and many other songs on 20TEN get to be extended like RAVE Un2 The Joy Fantastic was. 20TEN deserves it BIG TIME!

sounds like hes saying Amero

Amero (A) is a new transnational currency being introduced by Illuminati (Trilateral Commission, Bilderberg, Rockefeller, Rothschilds), i.e., Federal Reserve through NAFTA and the North American Union (NAU). This develops into the All American Union (AAU) leading to the New World Order AKA United States of Earth. You gotta admit that is one-hell-of-a-plan. And the real joke is on you! 'Cause its true.

After 2010, when the US $ is made to lose 98% of it's "thin air" value, - causing the American $ to be reviled - an Amero that strikes the Earth on December 21, 2012 will then be the widely acceptable replacement. This is the secret plan under implementation by the Illuminati AKA "The ALL American Union" - the economic and monetary union of three principal countries of North America, namely Canada, the United States, and Mexico, plus all the countries in South America, and Cuba (with exception of Haiti and Chile, which are gone).

Soon the Amero will be the only currency traded in the entire Americas.

yeah... or "soon Amero"

Rio de Danaro, Euro and soon Amero

lyrics help please.

I need 2 get back 2 this line we spoke about earlier.

"Rio di Danaro, Euro and soon Amaro" or

"Rio de Dinero, Euro and soon Amaro" (Meaning the same thing)

by this Prince means:

A Big River Of Money, Euro and soon Amero right? or a "Lots of Money" if U like...

A friend I have thinks Prince is singing

"Rio De Janeiro, Euro and soon Amero"

if Prince sings Rio De Janeiro... what does he mean with that line?

My question is really

What does he sing here? and what does it mean?....

Ok, this may be a very stupid question but I have to ask it as I do not have the album yet (its coming thru the German amazon) and I refuse to listen to it through the computer. So here is my question: Is this song a rap? I keep reading that it is and that it isn't and I want to know if it is or not. Thanks and sorry for the trouble.

The best would be to listen to facedown I think, the same style with his speaking voice what

a lot of people calling rap, it's a matter of oppinion.

If you think facedown is rap than I would say yes.

But I would say no, it's not a rap lol

He sounds really cool in it, really funky and laid-back same time a strong and kinda aggressive

tone to his voice.

He does not sing in it (the only singing part is the girls in the background with "you need to lay it down"

And wow u really can wait THAT long to hear the album ?

I would be going crazy. lol

Thumbs up!

[Edited 7/11/10 8:55am]

I really thought facedown was a good song. If it is like that then I know I will enjoy it. But yeah, I am going crazy waiting for the album (its being released the 20th and knowing amazon, it won't ship until a week after then I won't get it until probably a week after that mad sad ) but I am going to force myself to wait lol. Its hard but I want to keep myself excited biggrin .

Purple Music is my drug and I'm jonesin!!!!!

Isn't it? lol What's even more funny is that the book opened right to the page that had the song "Lay It Down" on it. It's like someone wanted me to see it. lol
