Housequake was for people who were actually interested in Prince's music. This forum's more for people who want to know whether Prince has long balls.

That's an inaccurate and unfair statement shrug Sure, the org has its share of "silly" Prince threads, but there's also alot of quality threads that deal with Prince's music.Recently, there have been a number of excellent threads about the different "eras" of Prince's career (Lovesexy,1999,etc). by an orger named OldFriends4Sale.I'm very impressed with these discussions.

Seeing as you've admitted that you never visited Housequake ever, your opinion's not really valid owing to having no means of actual comparison between Housequake and Prince.org.

I'm simply saying that there are many quality threads on Prince.org...threads that analyze and discuss his music in depth. You just have to look for them.Every thread here isn't silly, childish nonsense shrug

Furthermore....to those folks who complain that the org is shallow and silly, why not step up to the plate and start discussions of your own? This site is what we make it.You want more serious discusions about Prince's music? What's stopping you from having those types of discussions?

Again, you can't really comment on this. Housequake never had threads about Prince's cock size for good reason. The amount of idiotic threads on here is way, way more than Housequake ever had.

I DID start a thread a while ago about what seemed to be a unique edit of track on an early US 12" promo. And guess what, I didn't get one serious reply, only responses from a bunch of pisstakers who were probably taking a minute off from banging their respective mothers. I guess if I'd started a thread about what kind of toothpaste Prince uses, it would been received in a more mature fashion.

I usually just ignore the threads that aren't about things that I'd like to discuss wink It's not that hard to do.

In the past week,I've been having alot of fun discussing the Lovesexy and SOTT eras,"I Hate U" (one of my favorite Prince songs),and songs that Prince should have released as singles.I wouldn't even click on a thread that was discussing the brand of toothpaste that Prince uses, lol.

You complain that you didn't get one serious reply to your recent thread.Where are your fellow ex-Housequake members? hmmm Why aren't they contributing?

From what Ive been told and read, it seems that the org gets a bad rep because there is so much negativity on a lot of threads. There has been a lot of hate on here. Not sure if Housequake or others have the same or not. Ive only been a member of one other Prince fan site.

Neither do I; for some strange reason, you can happily post here bashing HQ and insulting its moderators, and nothing happens (even if you post blatant lies, as several people have done in this thread): nobody seems to consider that offensive.

Now if you reply to those people, posting something true (as you did), your post is deleted; is this fair moderation?

There was a reason why I have not posted here in a long while; and possibly that was, and is, the best thing to do. The org was a reference site, once upon a time; I even discovered HQ while reading the org. Unfortunately, for different reasons, that reference site is gone longtime ago. By now the org is what you can see in this thread, for instance.

Furthemore: when I was moderator in HQ, I posted many times to deffend the org when someone attacked it for the sake of it. Sadly, it is obvious that we can not expect likewise in the current org.

I think that would be a fair comment were it not for many HQ members (including at least three mods) appearing on this thread.

Anyway, for what it's worth, I am all for as many Prince fan sites as possible.

I used to miss HQ but no longer do and I always used to visit both. I personally thought the atmosphere here was better but each to their own.

I will stick with the org thanks!.
This place is (generally) light hearted and fun.
What a music forum site should be IMHO.
And for the record, I am a serious P collector, have been for most of my life.
Its music though, not world politics. It should be fun.

And the general support here at time of strive (like the lotusflower Credit Card situation) show what a strong community really exists here.

This place is full of colorful characters being themselves.
I even love the ones I hate. Everyone has a right to be individual.
That whats makes the org, the org.

Long may it last.

Of course not. But really not a fan of HQ or some of the mods there. It was too much of a power trip for some of them. And my feeling is this is an attempt to recapture that. Best of luck to it, I think the more the merrier as far as fansites are concerned.

I was a member at Housequake before I registered at Prince.org. I never was a member at those two at the same time, so for it's not really fair to compare. In those days (...) there was more freedom (videos, pictures) but I guess at Prince.org it was probably the same.

It was a local thing, I guess, for Holland/Belgium.

But why do people compare brands of cars, clothing, food, drinks?
What do you mean it's not in the computer?

Already making a judgement about a website that isn't even online yet? Ha.

As for the mods on a power trip: I don't know who you mean by that but I'm not involved in the new website, neither is Aaron nor Cateto. So maybe that is good news for you

This is that infamous Housequake 'respect' you HQ fans are constantly raving about?

You all need to get one thing straight: HQ is DEAD, but the org is ALIVE. And all you have left. You all should learn to show a little respect for THAT instead of all this ungrateful org bitching.

You need to slow your roll...really.

Stop with the misinformation already. Every fan site past and present has had its share of hassles with PP for one reason or another and you know it. The site owner made a personal choice to take the site down, end of story.

If you didn't like the site that's fine but to create animosity and false rivalry is quite immature of you and frankly I'm surprised because I usually consider you to be one of the more sensible people here.

Ben, Aaron and Endre, (Princefams), for that matter were always supportive of each other and you would do well to follow that example.

Excuse me, but misinformation? Take a look at the posts on this thead from the former HQ members and your own. I am not talking about Ben, Aaron or Endre and their support of eachother at all. I am talking about the former HQ members on this thread who are not being supportive at all, but who are bashing the org and spreading misonformation themselves. You misconstrue my post when you claim I am not.

They are bashing the org for no good reason and are claiming HQ didn't do anything wrong for it to get into so much trouble. HQ tho' was constantly attacked by Prince because it wasn't playing by the rules. It violated his copyrights for a long time with unauthorised material such as videos, which was a plain and simple stupid thing to do.

The org never did the same and therefore never got into the same amount of trouble and hassle as aaron did. He may have pulled the plug himself, but - like he always stressed himself - he wouldn't have if Prince would have stopped harrassing him. Prince didn't because Prince takes down any and all copyright violators.

It's time for HQ members to face the music. Your site is dead because you shouldn't touch Prince copyrights. There is no good reason whatsoever thent o come here and bash this site.

If they want to improve the org then why don't they start their own "quality" discussions instead of just bashing it with misinformation. There is nothing positive or "in depth" about these posters. They are just negative.

Actually legally, the videos were not copyright infringment at all, however they were taken down as part of a brokered agreement.

Prince.org had legal threats too Tremolina, they just weren't as public.

You're being very negative yourself it has to be said. Your posts come across as vitriolic that HQ closed down.

What has ruined the org for me (well, sort of) is not the number of immature or childish threads (they've always been here) nor threads about Prince's bum, it is the fieldday that some users have here bashing Prince to an extent which is far beyond any reasonable criticism. I really don't want to kiss the guy's ass, but if nearly every discussion ends up with the conclusion "Prince is shit since xxxx" (insert year here), then it's got no use for me. The only reason for me to come back here from time to time are the few good threads not spoiled yet and the Non-Prince forum, if it's not clogged with MJ, Janet or Madonna threads version 2200 again.

Having said that, I have to admit that the discussion forums on Housequake never really interested me - I just didn't like the atmosphere and only had an account for using the video forum. However, taking into account the recent situation on the org, I might give any new Prince site, including Moquake, a decent chance, so I'm looking forward to the site going online.
