Moquake.com ? Found this link www.moquake.com ...
Tried a search here at the org., but couldn't find any info. Is it a new fan-made website? Related to the old Housequake.com?

MoQuake a is new website that will provide discussion and news on all "Minneapolis Music", not just Prince.
Whilst it has a nod back to Housequake in not only it's name but its ethos, it is indeed a brand new groove. It's designed to compliment the Org, not be a competitor at all and I hope it doesn't end up being part of some of all too frequent "Org vs HQ" threads and posts that have been apparent on both sites in the past. Oh and Ben's aware supportive

Thanks for the info, Gav!
Sounds very interesting! Any info on a launch date? Will we see any of the old HQ features and sections on Moquake? Such as the Uptown articles, Collectibles forum, Discography, Bootleg Discussion etc?

No probs, thanks for the interest. Discie said: Any info on a launch date?
Erm - when it's ready ! Seriously though, the domain was registered (believe it or not) only 2 weeks back and the amazingly talented techie team are putting together content and design at a phenomenal rate. We're getting there but still a few things to do and we're obviously trying to tie up with something....ahem....coming: Discie said: Will we see any of the old HQ features and sections on Moquake? Since HQ went, a great deal of hard work has gone into PrinceVault.com so the aim is that MoQuake will provide direct links to that information rathet than replicate it, however a great deal of the forum content of HQ will be re-presented on MQ. [Edited 5/26/10 12:41pm]

but ... but... that goes against every expectation & launch timescale a Prince related website should have. Slow down man! Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Not only is it a tight deadline but the whole "launch on his birthday" thing is a bit contrived in my opinon. Plus the whole idea of MoQuake is 20% Prince, 80% "Minneapolis Music" so we'd have to do about 30 artists' birthdays

Musically what was happening in Minneapolis prior to Prince that really took off? Some awesome folks came to surface such as Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, but they are "of" Prince. I don't think there is a such thing as a "competitor" to a particular fan site. If a website is for a particular Artist, and you are a fan of that artist, I don't think it would be really considered participating in a competitors site. You would only be using as many venus as available to show your appreciatation and gain more knowledge of the artist that you are a fan of. Thanks for the info about MoQuake though. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

Some awesome folks came to surface such as Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, but they are "of" Prince. Absolutely and that's why they're of interest to Prince fans, however it's been tricky for artists such as Jesse, Brown Mark, Maceo and Mayte to reach a fanbase that appreciate their work - MoQuake aims to help there. In addition, there will be artists that are technically outside of the "Minneapolis sound" but both the team and members think may well be of interest. I'm looking forward to discovering new music from like minded people. Reel said: I don't think there is a such thing as a "competitor" to a particular fan site. In a way it's sad that I feel more excited about the launch of housequake.com 2.0 (sort of) than a possible new Prince album.... Come both, and it's gonna be a nice summer.. Aka Mister T at moquake.com
