it is so ridiculous how so many orgers hate the R&B/Funk side of Prince

I just watched that performance and thought the same thing I always do when I see him live. Damn that boy is good.

Prince is the greatest most eclectic live performer of our time and probably of all time...yet you wouldn't know it from reading this board. I actually read the thread before watching the video...and as usual most of you disappoint me.

How can you watch that performance and not appreciate Prince. The guy can sleep walk on stage and look good....and dude is 50.

I wouldn't go that far. I think it's Prince just having fun more than trying to be something he's not, or copy James--hell, he's ALWAYS been heavily influenced by James.
And I wouldn't say Days of Wild was a better than this song


But then again, Days of Wild was instantly recognizable and the hook stayed in my head, even though I didn't care for it. This song will take repeated listening before I even recognize it amongst his other recent output.


But then again, I listenned to pFunk and didn't care for IT either. It bored the shit out of me--I actually thought 1+1+1=3 was funkier
