Probably because Purple Music gave him good money upfront to release his new singles, and allow them to remix them to their hearts content and then sell the singles/EP in physical CD or digitally.

Either he just screwed them like he did that label who released PLANET EARTH and then released it in a UK paper, or he's allowed in his contract with them to do this since this is just the single. The Lewis remixes are owned by Purple Music I'm sure.

maybe some of the just released tracks are not ment to be released on a CD or as .wav because it's Prince just funnin' around in the studio and creating a song or remix from time to time! Actually THAT's the cool thing about it that he allows his fans to get 3 new 'n' fresh mp3 tracks, shares them with us and gives us an insight in some of his latest jams!!!!! I'm sure they won't be released in .wav format or on a CD or whatever EVER! 0.88 rules! generous!

yeah, THIS version of Screwdriver does it for me. This is going to be a driving song, I can tell already. And Breakfast Can Wait will sound GREAT right behind Sticky Like Glue!, took me awhile to figure out what to do after i paid via paypal. Great audio treats P, keep it up!

I much prefer the original version of Screwdriver. I can hear the care that went onto choosing the sounds and the arrangement. It sounds better and it sounds more complete.

The remix is cool, too, but it's not the real thing to my ears.

Can't say I'm a fan of the remix or BCW. More digitized music from Prince huh... very grateful he's constantly making new music and making it cheap & easy for fans to access them but I'm gonna miss buying physical CDs =(
