It's not about money for me. As I said, I'd pay $20 for a new album.

Compressed audio sounds fine on a PC/Mac/iPod/iPad, but not on a high quality home stereo. There is a huge difference.

Now when talking about losless (WAV, AIFF, FLAC, etc.), sure, I could gather a few or more and burn an optical disk to play on my high-end analog stereo system, but then it's another generic (blank) CD cover with a Sharpie-marked CD.

Like others here, I feel that a downloaded single may be exciting for some, but not for me... Might love the song, but ultimately, easily forgotten.

I have been in pro audio and music my entire life, and even though I have to deal with computers constantly, I only listen to other artists music via PC for reference purposes only... to check it out.

This is because I listen to others' music differently than to music of my own (or something I'm collaborating with others on). THAT means not on a computer, and certainly not on an iPod with earbuds. Music that I'm involved with creating/producing/mixing is indeed monitored through both a deck (mixer) with studio monitors or headphones, and through a computer.

I guess I'll count myself as lucky. I bought the tracks and downloaded them immediately. They sound good, but I can't wait to hear them on my stereo at home. It's times like this why I bought those big ass speakers!

Thanks Serpan, i've done this and when i click on the download link i get this message 'Sorry, you have reached your download limit for this file'. It seems that i have only been able to stream the tracks a couple of times and now cannot listen to them at all!

Cheers. i found it in my history but it's still a bit silly there isn't a log in option. and this 3 download limit is bloody stupid. i have mine but those that had trouble when the trafic was heavier probably stopped and restarted the download which is why they don't have any more dl's left. why have a limit?

Very true. the mp3's sound like outtakes or spontaneos recording sessions to me. Still cool he releases such gems that way for that price...

BUT the screwdriver purplemusic release i consider a very well worked out Rock tune. That song is on point and ROCKS!

I wouldn't try to purchase or listen to these tracks on a phone, use a proper computer and then transfer them to your phones/media players (iPods play WAV files just fine, just tried it). It's not like iTunes where buying with your phone is seamless and you can redownload your purchases from iCloud as much as you want. Just be aware this site is not for streaming, you need a desktop or download folder to save the files.

I couldn't agree more with you, spot on! You can hear it is a carefully crafted "hitsingle", with a big sound. The remix is just having a bit of fun with it in the studio. And completely derails at the end

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Purple Music release and the 3rdeye girl/lyric video version of Screwdriver, tried to listen to specific times and cannot notice a major diff?

I bought the .wav file of "Screwdriver." It's not one of my favorite songs but it's growing on me a little bit. I'll hold off on buying the others for a while in case we get lossless versions. No problems at all with the download/purchase process on the new site.

Hello need some help here- just purchased 3 of the tracks via paypal and have receipt for payment. didnt "open an account" as such just provided email address, then went to cart and paid - do i assume i will get an email with alink to download the music?. tried to go back into the website but wont let me back in without a password, which I never set up in the first place.

probably been a "jughead" here, but does this mean i can not now download the music i have purchased?
