"it came true" ... so far. and 2 and a half years is a historical delay in terms of Prince's album releases, but it is still less or equal to the time most artists his age or from his era record and release albums.

it's "far reaching" in that we all know that Prince is going to release another album. all the latest activity indicates that one could easily be released as early as next week or at least within a few months time. it's "far reaching" in that for it to be true, he's never releasing another album within his life-time, which is not at all likely and isn't supported by the fact that he hasn't done one lately, whatever he may think at the split second that he is being interviewed by Billboard.

It's not about money for me. As I said, I'd pay $20 for a new album.

Compressed audio sounds fine on a PC/Mac/iPod/iPad, but not on a high quality home stereo. There is a huge difference.

Now when talking about losless (WAV, AIFF, FLAC, etc.), sure, I could gather a few or more and burn an optical disk to play on my high-end analog stereo system, but then it's another generic (blank) CD cover with a Sharpie-marked CD.

Like others here, I feel that a downloaded single may be exciting for some, but not for me... Might love the song, but ultimately, easily forgotten.

I have been in pro audio and music my entire life, and even though I have to deal with computers constantly, I only listen to other artists music via PC for reference purposes only... to check it out.

This is because I listen to others' music differently than to music of my own (or something I'm collaborating with others on). THAT means not on a computer, and certainly not on an iPod with earbuds. Music that I'm involved with creating/producing/mixing is indeed monitored through both a deck (mixer) with studio monitors or headphones, and through a computer.

Probably because Purple Music gave him good money upfront to release his new singles, and allow them to remix them to their hearts content and then sell the singles/EP in physical CD or digitally.

Either he just screwed them like he did that label who released PLANET EARTH and then released it in a UK paper, or he's allowed in his contract with them to do this since this is just the single. The Lewis remixes are owned by Purple Music I'm sure.

I've already downloaded the 3 tracks I bought, but, when I go to the My Account page, under available downloads, it says:

Breakfast Can Wait 2 Downloads Remaining

RNR Remix 7 1 Download Remaining

Do we get multiple downloads per purchase? Is this for multiple devices? How hard is it to download once and copy the file to other devices? Why do I have 2 downloads remaining for Breakfast but only 1 for the other 2 when I already downloaded all 3 once each? Do the voices in my head bother you?
