Thanks. Okay, do you have to pay for the downloads? My computer is running slow right now, I guess because of the high traffic on that site.

No, the downloads are included in the price. I think I'm kinda over it for the night and will just let them work out the kinks on the site.

I'm off to bed as well.

And could someone list all the current content of the members area for those of us who want to know what we're getting for our $77? i.e. - What file format and bit-rate are the albums, what videos are on the site, are they streaming only or downloadable, images, text, discography, what?.... Thanks.

I posted earlier -

mp3 format albums are at 320 kbps. Each album is about 100 mb total in mp3 format. wma files are also available, but I didn't download those.

There are additional images shown for each album (5-6 for each). There are also lyrics on the site for all three albums. There's a paragraph of credits for each album as well.

There are probably about 25-30 videos on the site (they're playing pretty choppy right now so I haven't studied them much, but there's the Creep performance, "Guitar" which never aired on Leno, "1999" which never aired on Leno, "7/Come Together" to name a few. They stream - not available for download.

They have to work on the choppy videos as well. All the vids are choppy and skips, so they have to work on that fast.

That's too cool. They didn't answer my own mail but i'm astonished that they reacted so fast anyway. Possibly we'll get a better level of communication that we used 2 with NPGMC back in the days.

I have 2 go 2 bed,though, i'll give it a try 2morrow as soon as i get outta bed ;-D

Yes, me too. I'll log in from work tomorrow, and maybe by tomorrow nite, I could download the songs so I could listen to them on my mp3. Loving the site so far though, but it's 11:43am and time to go to bed. Glad I got in the site. biggrin

Bit disappointed with the videos to be honest. Thought they'd be higher resolution really. Similar to youtube.

Bit stuttery at the moment too but that's surely to be expected with everyone hitting the site at the same time and downloading the albums.

This is what happens when graphic designers think they can make websites. When you set out to make a great website, start by looking at the best WEBSITES that are out there, not the best DVD menu screens.

Leaving aside the numerous technical faults which we have to assume will get resolved in time, the site is still a bit of a mess isn't it?

I'm sure it is perfectly usable running locally on the designer's Mac, but as a live internet site... yikes. The loading times are frequently measured in minutes, not seconds. It's all so stuttery, with such rotten framerates, even on quite a well specced computer. The layout is so messy, it's an unholy blend of all the very worst of Prince's interactive efforts - Interactive, The Dawn, NPG Music Club etc.

It suffers heavily from "mystery meat navigation" too - what will clicking on the pyramid get me, or clicking on the building? Is that thing clickable?

The sad thing is, someone charged Prince a lot of money to make this site, a site which literally no one will enjoy using. We'll put up with it to get to the music or concert tickets, but it is a horrible site to actually navigate.

I agree. Prince should have built a simple site without all the interactive flash crap.

I'd also add that many of the videos aren't stellar in quality, even disregarding the choppiness of them this evening. Everything is shown in widescreen format, with the ability to enlarge them as well, but that stinks for videos not shot in widescreen, as they're stretched to fill the screen. If Prince was worried about his height before, he now as his weight to worry about in some of the older videos, both live and studio versions. Stretch city.

click on the far right or the far left of the screen that his mug appears on and the page slides left or right for a new experience... or galaxy... whatever we're calling in this millenium..

Ahhh, THANKS!! bow

I restarted FF to see if that would help me with the 'invalid origin' problem and briefly saw the full page, but then it centered on Lotusflow3r and I couldn't find the other albums.

You have to make sure it's zoomed out, then click/drag horizontally.

I still can't get the downloads to get past the error message though, has anyone figured that out yet?

Isn't the the truth. Lots of cute graphics that just get in the way of the music. I just want to get the songs/videos into iTunes where I can play them when and where I want. It took 90 minutes, but the 3 albums are in iTunes now and are in high quality, so no complaints there.

It looks like you have to hunt around to watch the video you want, and the quality isn't the best for full screen. And I suspect different videos will show up and disappear. The one that is worth checking out for those that haven't seen it is the sacrifice of victor aftershow. Too bad the video isn't HD, but it does look like it's the whole video, which is a great video, and not just a single track.

In case it hasn't been mentioned, for those having trouble signing up, once you sign up with another browser, it looks like you can sign in with any. I went back to safari and it works fine there now.

OK, this is lame. I can't navigate between the songs. I can't go directly to "Feel Good, Feel Better, Feel Wonderful".

I can't download the albums I guess I paid $77 for.

There is nothing under the LOOK tab.

Where are the concert videos?

So far, this is not what I expected. I'll be patient and try again tomorrow, but it sure better deliver more than this.

I'm STILL annoyed that I gotta pay shipping on my T-shirt. That ain't right.

But the dulcet tones of the guitar are calming me down. I'm having fun just playing with it and watching the jellyfish float.

If I read it right, shipping on the t-shirt was only for people outside the US.

I think fans in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the rest of Russia will have a hard time with this... with the unpredictable nature of Russian telecommunications systems...
But generally I think if we give it a day or two, things will work more smoothly.

Glad to see that Prince and his team care about those fans who can't shell out $77. I can watch the Kiss video, at least there's 1 thing for me. But that non-clickable blue orb is just there to taunt me. I waited all this time, read all the hype, anxiously logged on to my computer and low and behold, a completely pay-only site! Not one thing for a Prince fan with no money...ahh the perks of being a Prince fan.

I think i'm in the boat with a lot of folks probably. Unless you join it site unseen you get access to nothing but that sad little tv on the outside playing Kiss and that static sounding radio station with a sad announcement.

This sucks ass...he wants people to pay 77.00 upfront not knowing what they're gonna get. I thought there would be some kind of limited access or sample section but no... you gets NOTHING.

Way to treat your hardcore fans Prince because whether you know it or not those are the only ones signing up anyway. This is jacked up. A waste of waiting.
