Totally agree! this is meant to be a thread on the May 11th show, not bloody grown men whinge and bitching about everything Prince does, its really creepy and embarrasingly sad.

Trying to stay relevant by having young chicks around is tired and in my eyes just makes him look even older and out of touch. From what I've heard andy wasn't there...andy mckee is the new guitarist for this tour and damaris lewis seems to be his new muse of the moment. According to prince photo gallery facebook andy was in attendance but no she didn't perform. [Edited 5/11/12 12:11pm] [Edited 5/11/12 12:12pm] | |

The guitar died midway through Let's Go Crazy so we got no solo at the end of the song, PRince was NOT happy and chucked his guitar hard......and then we got 1999 & Little Red Corvette with no Prince on guitar but it was good that it forced him to do something different than the same old stuff.. You know they are. Hopefully he will retire them once the Welcome 2_____ is over. I got to admit no one could rock this look and still make it "werk" A few things:
1. The Sydney Morning Herald review of the show is a joke.. Just a few sentences of some petty whinging.. Next.. 2. Dance Electric was played as a song w verses included, not just a lengthy jam 3. Love Thy Will Be Done was a surprise highlight of the night w Prince on vocals and playing a searing lead guitar part at the end 4. The guitar issues.. He played Let's Go Crazy, we got the first guitar solo & then went into I think Delirious and possibly something else, so he put the guitar down for a while and danced around until somehow we made our way back into the "Go Crazy..." breakdown. Then when the guitar was handed back he turned it up and it just made a loud humming sound ( sometimes happens when effects pedals are not plugged in the right way ). He stomped a few pedals to see what was going on then just casually took off the guitar and tossed it in the air to his guitar tech to fix. Thus aborting the guitar solo ending of Lets Go Crazy.. Which admittedly I was looking forward too (who isn't???) but he did not miss a beat and just improvised around it.. after all if there is one thing this guy does bloody well people is it not improvising?? It wasn't such a big deal as people may think 5. I think the show was amazing despite what some have said. Definitely waaaay better than the show I saw in 03. my seats then weren't the best and I remember it being very subdued and most sitting in their chairs all night but last night was like a giant friggin house party!! He really made the whole arena feel small. And such a diverse crowd! I had good seats where everyone was up and now my feet are sore from non stop dancing and my voice is shot from screaming all night but I have to pull myself together to do it all again in afew hours hahaha.. My only slight disappointment was in the encore. He made us cheer for aaaaages then FINALLY came back & bashed out a quick rockin version of Peach which was great but that was it, he left abit prematurely when everyone was there primed ready for more and still going nuts. He could've played more but for whatever reason chose not to. Oh well... 6. He played the Hohner tele all night! No strats! No whammy!!! Rant over. [Edited 5/11/12 16:37pm] | |
