Prince, I would just like to say thank you for playing malahide. and also to put in a request (ignore at your leisure), both your version of other peoples songs, I hope that sits well with you.. Love is a losing game, and A case of you. Thank you for the music x

I think this could be very likely...I'm almost sure he sang 'Love Is A Losing Game' when I seen him at one of the Indigo aftershows in London!!!

Can you pre-buy DART tickets? This article seems to suggest you can by giving the link to Irish Rail, but when you check the timetables, it doesn't actually allow you to pre-book tickets for their DART services!???!!!

Anybody know how this works???

I don't think you can pre-book DART tickets, but you won't need to. I think what they're on about is that on their (relatively) new touch screen ticket machines they're going to have a 'Prince concert' button, which will save you the hassle of having to figure out what ticket you need to buy.

There's plenty of ticket machines in Connolly station, and no matter what station you're travelling from you'll be fine - getting your DART ticket won't be a problem.

Don't worry, you'll get there! smile

Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

Just wondering too....what time are most orgers hear heading into the venue? I'm guessing the pit is good enough that anywhere in there will afford a great view! But are people heading in really early or hanging about to wait closer to when the music starts? (Either the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble or Prince)...........

Big thumbs up to You, Colm and everyone (apart from the Kerry throll) for making this thread an Experience...

Dont forget to break into a good old version of Ole, ole, ole, Prince secretly loves that... wink

You guys are awesome!! What a pleasure it's been to follow this thread (despite all its twists and turns) and I'm so excited for you all! excited

Have an absolutely brilliant time - enjoy Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, they're awesome - and say 'hi' to Prince and the band from his Aussie fans. You guys have shown us how it's done, can't wait for it to finally be our turn wink

Colm, Rorywan and all who've persisted and made this thread great (truly an experience, as Whitnail said), I know it will be everything you are expecting and more, particularly given the energy YOU will all be taking into the grounds.

HAVE FUN EVERYONE!! music

touched Thank U. T'was a battle times, but much like the stories of Brothers Grimm, we killed the big bad wolf (in Rorys case, more than once) and everyone lived happily ever after! Now onwards, the castle is calling.

Traffic restrictions -

GardaĆ warn of traffic restrictions near Prince concert

Motorists are being reminded today that traffic restrictions will be in place as thousands travel to Malahide Castle in Dublin later for the Prince concert.

Gates for the concert will open at 4pm this afternoon.

The Dublin R106 road in Malahide will be closed between the Swords Rd junction and the Main Street from 5pm today until 1am tomorrow morning. Local access will be maintained.

After the concert, diversions will be in place from 10.30pm tonight until midnight, with gardaĆ on point duty.

Traffic travelling from the North should exit the M1 Belfast-Dublin Rd at J4 Donabate.

Traffic travelling from M50 should take N32 and travel towards Malahide where they can follow concert signage.

There will be no on-street parking in the vicinity of the Castle Grounds. Limited parking can be accessed from the main entrance to Malahide Castle on the Back Road.

Irish Rail will also operate additional services for the day.
