I am getting rather excited now & also kinda nervous! I'm taking a friend & I want her to think that it was worth every penny. ..I'll pay stoopid money to see Prince of course but she's a "not we" so I hope we get a long set, meaning he'd have to be prompt & as much as I like the girls, plenty of him taking the lead. Oh and please God - good sound, I'd cry if it was anything like the NSJ/Cologne reports. If he does an aftershow I also have to convince her to let me pay for her as Prince is my thing & I could never expect her to pay another €100 no matter how good he is!

I just can't believe I am not going to be there. I should be there, but have no one to go with (what a sad, old git I am!) It will be a concert to remember, I can feel it in my bones & I reckon it will blow your socks off. For those of you lucky to get, enjoy every minute of it & have a funktastic boogie for me over in Bonnie Scotland!! Mx

Hop Farm sound seemed to have favourable reviews I recall. I'm not an expert but while the sound might be too loud & the mix might be shitty, it's a field so there is nothing to bounce off like an arena or stadium.

Its true there was a link by Andy Allo on Fb to Dr. Funkenberry on an article stating how annoyed and upset that Prince & his band were over the sound problems last night.

I was one of the orgers to have foolishly still made the journey to dublin in the wake of the cancelled croke park show 2 years ago... met some orgers in the pub in the day , orange tree or summit, but refused to go see the purple reign band in the evening, if it aint prince it aint prince, right?

Any way it left a bad taste in my mouth and i didnt listen to prince for some time, but its in the blood you know, purple rain was my first prince album so ive been a big fan for some time. My partner refused to travel down to dublin for this castle gig as she aint a prince fan and is still angry after i dragged her down to dublin last time for a very expensive nothing!!

so my sister agreed to come with me and i was delighted only for her to tell me last week that she was gonna buy a sofa instead , gutted, im off to turkey on my hols come 19th of august and this gig is just at

the wrong time for me as ive had car trouble and had to spend £500 of our spending money to get that on the road again, i love prince its a spiritual thing and i know you know what im talking about, part of me just thinks what the hell im just gonna go but im a family man and cant do that kinda of impulsive selfish act anymore.

This gig is going to be epic , you can feel it, im very glad PRINCE has decided to put his croke park disaster to bed, he wants to make up, your in for something very special i hope its well documented, looks like the weather will be perfect its gonna be a beautiful night , the setting could not be more perfect a prince at his irish castle.... i hope its every thing you dreamed of, i hope some of you can pop onto twitter and keep me informed.

I'm sitting at my desk this morning and cant concentrate on doing any work! All I want to do is get on the road to Dublin! A bit worried now reading the reports of BAD sound issues in Germany etc ..

Hope he has lots of time to soundcheck in Malahide ...Lots of factors to deal with ie. Wind , Crowd size,areas that reflect sound back and maybe a highered desk & back line ( As I feel he maybe touring on the cheap)

Hi Folks,

I went buy the park at 9.30 this morning to see how everything is coming along and noticed the stage is built and covered but the lighting, sound and LED screen are not put up yet. The pit is not sectioned off either. This shocked the hell out of me. I am sure everything is under control but some people are going to be very busy the next 24 hours. What The Fuck !!!

I believe Prince and band arrive in Ireland this evening, I guess a sound check is out of the question as there are no speakers ! so if he is to sound check it will have to be tomorrow morning before the park opens to the general public.

I hope they get their act togther fast, Koln reports not good, will report back aroung 7pm this evening.

I think there is something special between prince and an irish crowd, i remember the nude tour 1990 was unbelievable he had the crowd on there toes from start to finish, was like the second coming, it will be fine, listen prince has done a million shows live, they cant all be awesome, he is human after all.

Malahide Castle is going to be amazing made more special because its just the die hards , ordinary curious folk would not pay all that money for an artist they dont really know.
