I find it interesting that there is no mentioning that this performance is apart of GMA's summer concert series. hmmm

DO IT DO IT DO IT!

biggrin

Don't think of it as early in the morning, think of it as really, really late from the night before. wink

I'm trying to think of the logistics. My subway ride from Queens is an hour long. Longer if it's the middle of the night to get there early. And then having to go to work afterward... I can easily do it, but I'm lazy. sigh

I feel ya. I've been working a lot of extra hours recently so I said fuck it and took Friday off of work; otherwise I'd be the same way... Could you sleep on the subway? (Perhaps a bit dicey.) Or drink some Red Bull?

It was a JOKE. Thus the use of the razz emoticon to suggest teasing.

I live near the end of the E line so my commute is longer than someone who lives just on the other side of the river in Long Island City. The ride itself is closer to 45 minutes, but when you consider the actual door-to-door time length, it's an hour at best.

If I do go, I'll most likely show up at 5:30-6am and stand in the back.

I guess it's fair to say that Prince is unpridictable at best.

I'll be coming from New Hampshire. I won't be spending the night though..just a day trip. hehe..that would be cool if you got room 21! biggrin
south jersey huh? you gonna drive into the city? I'm thinking about driving to CT then taking the train in from there. I don't think I want to drive into NYC...isn't parking outragous too? let me know

Dude-! Whatever u do DO NOT drive all the way into the city-unless u have money and time to burn....

Driving in to Conn would b a much better bet.....
I'm lucky in that i'm finished with something at 5:00 AM that morning, about 15 min train ride away....
I hope i can score a spot worth having.....

Well I've never been to this before, but I taped GMA yesterday and from what I could tell I think it's a whomever gets to the front first kinda thing. That is why people start lining up outside the park so early, I suppose.

BTW, I only taped from 7am-8am, b/c the posters said 7am and by 8 the concert hadn't yet been televised but at around 8 the anchors said that Kenny Chesney was warming up. So I guess the park opens at 6am, GMA starts at 7am and I'm guessing they will televise Prince playing his songs around 9am? Anyone else know for sure?

I don't have any finals that day which means no school which means I'm going. Lucky for me I'm right here in Jersey so its only a couple bus rides away. Oh and about these meet ups, any young ppl going? Since all of these "elders" are going to be "drinking" im going to need someone to spend time with biggrin
chill..prince doesnt like men being front row, makes it hard to sing the ballads

I'm 21 so I consider that to be "young" still. I'm going to get there at the crack of dawn and hold spots for myself and my mom. But i'm doing the "standing time" for her so she doesn't have to wink

So funny!

Reminds me of a funny scheme concocted by the guy standing next to me at the last NYC Prince show . It was packed in the Nokia lobby and the crowd wasn't moving. The guys said to his friends "I have an idea...it will get us right in and it won't hurt anyone. We'll make a line and you push from the back...I'll say 'pardon me, excuse me, they're pushing'...and we'll all get to the front together ". The funniest part is that it would have worked.

I signed up.

The next group was let in and we all got good spots but I'm still laughing at the fact that they were seriously considering this.
