Who was in the band?

(man, I didn't even think about DVR'ing this - I just woke up and got ready for work like usual...)

Same band that's been at the 3121 gigs: Cora Durham(?) on drums, Josh Durham on bass, Mr. Hayes on keyboards. Maceo & Sheila showed up and there was a trumpeter & trombonist for Get on the Boat that I've never seen before.

The sound wasn't the best--I was up pretty close, but the girls with tamborines. I watched my tape at hope and it definitely sounded better on TV. It was still awesome to be in the park with thousands of Prince fans though!

cool
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

The sound was very bad they did not hook him up with a good mic and his guitar was way low but he still killed it .

Org forgive me, but I wasn't too impressed with it on TV. Perhaps if I were there I would have got more out of it but it was okay. I did enjoy his solo on Tamar's song. Don't get me wrong, I would pay money today to go and see him tonight, but what broadcasted out was...wink .

How did Tamar look in person? The twins actually looked better than her for some reason this morning. Perhaps I need more coffee! I loved the twins' getup today. Sheila was looking fine!

PS - something other than Let's Go Crazy would be most appreciated for the oldies spotlight.

briant

I was at the show in Bryant Park. The sound blew. Lame lame lame.

You really couldn't hear. Dissappointing. Still great to see Prince, but the sound was at about half volume if that. Kinda like they had blown a fuse on something or another. Something was definitely wrong.

Unbelievable. The sound check was better than the performances. How does THAT happen? When the announcers came out to talk to us we couldn't hear them. And they kept thinking we were saying "WE WANT PRINCE" but actually we were saying "WE CAN"T HERE YOU"! It was like being in a bad dream.

It almost appeared as though he wanted to come back out and do some more stuff after the cameras went out but because the sound quality was so bad there was no need to perform for folks that couldn't hear him.

I'll have to watch the video to see how it came across on screen.

Dearlybeloved is very disappointed....AND to top things off i took a picture with MR. HAYES after the concert and didn't save the durn thing to my phone!!! mad mad

Really? I have a different name here than there but I guess my secret's out...
Where/what thread?

I was repping for The Org, HQ & NPGMC, not just NPGMC. cool

I'm such a space sometimes. nutty

I'm excited my sign made it--I really felt it was important to put Housequake & The Org on it too b/c we all love Prince. cool It almost didn't make it in though, the ABC people were all like, "What's 'The Org'?" I told them I would only show the other side of my sign, which was an inside joke to my friends (Publicity Stunt). Yeah right. biggrin
