For those who haven't seen it:

The extended Negan scene is him asking who the leader is, and introducing himself to Rick. He goes over Rick's crew killing his crew, then killing more of his crew more than he was comfortable with. Then he mentioned Lucille, and how she's "awesome" After some chatter about getting half their stuff, he picks Maggie to bash. Glenn pops up and yells out "DON'T!". Negan warns not to do that again. He goes onto the already aired part of "you can breathe, you can cry...", and then goes bash another person. It's not seen that it's Abraham. Remember, this is still 6x16, so we don't get the reveal yet.

The scene is about 7-8 minutes long, and it's on YouTube in places. TWD sometimes has weird air times, like 10-11:15pm or something. I'm not sure why they didn't include this whole scene, and let it play out for the fans. OR, reedit it back in for an encore repeat this past Sunday, leading up to 7x01.

Is this the same thing as the Uncut Version of the episode that restores the language of the comics (RE: Negan says "fuck" ALOT)? I might be confusing that with this Extended Scene as an isolated extra.

I understand that uncut version is on the Blu but it is not on the DVD. I don't remember whether or not the DVD had that extended isolated scene.

I didn't realize until the show was over I didn't cover my eyes once, I just sat there with my mouth partially opened glued to the tube. I think Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the most perfect counterpoint to Andrew Lincoln in style.

This episode hit me like a sledge hammer. This is real horror. I thought he got Daryl and somehow I was relieved that it wasn't him after all and it got to the expence of Abraham. Not cool as well. And when Glenn got it, I almost fell off my chair. Man, this got to me and the rest of the TWD fans I know...

Now how will Rick do that's he's lost practically everything? He's lost 3 of his best people. He's lost his arrogance which got them into this mess, he's lost the confidence of his crew, shamed in front of his son, he has no useful allies. We thought we saw crazy Rick before, what's the new crazy going to be like? To live with realization he made the stupidiest mistake ever, attacking before knowing his enemy nor finding out about the other settlements and how they're surviving all this.

I don't understand some of the sanctimony from writers and critics who claim they will stop watching TWD after Sunday's episode.

I fully get if people are quitting the show because losing beloved characters is too emotionally draining or frustrating (though inevitable in this universe).

But for those who say Sunday's episode was gratuitously violent . . . 6 seasons and one episode in . . . I have to say . . . "have you even WATCHED this show?!?!!" People are killed in the worst ways at least every other episode. I'm not saying that Sunday's deaths weren't horrible, but they had a purpose in the plotline like (many of) the other major deaths before. Getting all self-righteous about the violence now rings hollow.

I don't remember an F word in it, but a lot of "shit".

Here's one that someone edited with horrible music, but the dialog is intact. They also did other edits near the end with flashbacks from 7X01. https://www.youtube.com/w...1Wi_PSHogc

Here's the same scene as is, but lesser quality (someone videoing a screen). It plays through the end of the scene was we know it with "taking it like a champ!". https://www.youtube.com/w...ayXXuRb5MU

THANK YOU! I've been debating with my cousin over this very thing. He put weight on major characters vs minor characters and how they die. Major characters should have less gory ends, whereas if a minor character suffers a harsher fate then so be it. I told him that was illogical. People have been burned alive, arrowed, shot in the head, blown up, let's not forget that Rick's wife was very pregnant and was eaten alive, and Hershel was beheaded. Glenn and Abe aren't the first people to get a clobber to the head either. Yes this was gory and grotesque, but I also made the argument that the creator and writer of the comics is also an executive producer on the show. He isn't changing a lot for the sake of it. AMC has been very liberal with TWD and what they do. A&E did the same with Breaking Bad, even allowing one "fuck" per season. (The producers said they always chose when it use it wisely.) If people stop watching, bye Felicia.

There's a photo somewhere of the cast, with the dead members black and white. There's like 2 people left besides Rick from early on.

There's Morgan, not in the photo. And though Michonne wasn't there earlier she still a strong friend. Carol's iffy but still she's still around from the originals and quite a strong ally if she settles somewhere. I don't see Farmer Rick making a re-emergence.

My eyes were glued to the screen all the time but at the same time this episode made me feel far more uncomfortable than any other horror movie or TWD episode before.

Maybe it was the combination of all things...the humiliation of Rick in front of Carl, the fact that we not only saw Abe and Glenn get killed brutally and savagely but that Glenn was still trying to speak...with his brains leaking out and his eye popping out of his skull.

The Terminus gang was bad and evil, too, but the slaughtering there was a bit more sterile, cleaner, not as drawn out as this episode.

Don´t get me wrong, I think it´s one of the most thrilling, most exciting and most true to the graphic novels episode ever, and I already expected that to happen to Glenn but it still made me feel very, very uncomfortable.

But it´s good to know that AMC is very liberal as far as TWD is concerned, and very loyal to the atmosphere in the graphic novels (though I must admit I don´t really follow them, just read a few prints here and there, and had already seen how Glenn gets killed).

.

It´s all Rick´s fault in my opinion. He used to be such a thinker and planner AND badass, but this time he messed up big time. He should have done his homework first, done some research, checked out how powerful his enemy is, and shouldn´t have just gone and killed them in an amateur fashion.

There was absolutely no need to do that at that point without finding out a bit more, and preparing for the big battle.

Stupid Rick.

Negan is probably the coldest , most ruthless, most fearsome villain ever.

I´m sad that Abraham and Glenn had to go, and I think Abe added a lot to the chemistry within the group. He was one of my favorite characters, and as much as I want politics to stay out of this, I still think it was great to see such a strong and important character like Glenn.

He´s the most likeable, most charismatic Asian character since that Korean couple on LOST.

Too bad he had to go but it was to be expected.

The only consolation I have is that my man Daryl is still alive.

Its an uncut version, not an extended version ... so its exactly the same as the scene that aired except the language is alot more blue, having all the 'fucking fuckety fucks' that Negan used in the comic. You're not missing too much if you haven't seen it. In fact, Negan seems more threatening without all the swearing, more measured, more sinister IMO. The only other change is right at the end when Negan swings the bat; for some reason they don't have all the screams and cries in the background on it.

Oh, and I feel your pain re. the stuff they keep of DVDs just to make them Blu-Ray 'exclusives'. I've made the jump the Blu-Ray but there's totally no reason to do it other than to piss of the fans who don't quite have the cash to get the Blu-Ray!

Definitely alot more f-bombs, which is as it was written in the original comic. Negan does like his cuss words, and he wields them just as well as he does Lucille! biggrin

My brother made the point re. Negan's right-hand-man being the same actor as Trevor from GTA5. I've got it on PS4 but haven't played it yet. My brother has and he said it was very cool but a bit distracting to see Trevor involved in the episode lol

I actually did make the jump to blu but it was a few years into collecting TWD on DVD. I have this OCD where I don't like to split a collection of a show into multiple formats and usually keep buying dvds if I've already purchased other seasons in that format.

I wouldn't have done that if I knew the blus would have exclusives. sad

I have a feeling someone is going to say this same thing... but mean it seriously... and then then someone is going to be sued.

Kind of like when that guy showed a woman an execution video at a coffeeshop on his laptop, and then he got prosecuted (in the UK).

Can always trade in an upgrade at a later date. I dare say there will be some ultimate blu-ray boxset of the whole thing when its done and dusted ... I'm holding off buying any individual series until that comes out.

Maybe I need to watch it again, but I seem to be okay with it. Maybe it the anxiety I felt at the season finale that's worn off, I don't think I could have taken it then, I knew it was coming and had a long time to prepare for it so when it happened I wasn't anywhere near as shocked. I seem ready to move on with the story. Weird.
