saw it again lastnight, was really good. Like ray and fin, the pilot n bb8. Not sure about the first order . should of kept the empire name they seem nazi ish .. Fins landos son definately .. rey hmm leia n hans daughter? .. cant wait for the next movie next year.

Finn better not be Lando's son. that would be over the top even for star wars. I wonder if the First Order has anything to do with the orders Palp had for the clones? (such as Order 66)

But basied on some theories as to who Snoke is....that would be doubtful.

the only way Rey is Han or Leia's is if their minds were erassed. They did not act like they knew her at all. But I did read that Leia and Rey had a conversation before she leaves to find Luke. And the fact the sent her?

the other theory is Rey is the daugher of Luke and grandaugher of ObiWan!

now if he is Darth Plagueis the Wise that will be okay.. but then again SOMETHING did come out of that well that Palpy was tossed into.

but i am thinking Darth Plagueis was further along in the power to cheat death than Paply realized...

I've seen the movie 9 times. The blast from the weapon was hyperdrive or lightspeed enabled but it wasn't mentioned if the planet was mobile, or how they were able to charge the weapon twice if it has to drain the entire sun.

Maybe after its charged once it doesnt need to be charged again, at least not for a long time. They blew up a few planets with it but after its destroyed there was still a huge star thing left behind. So it would have had a few more good shots left.

The second time when they're going to blow up the resistance base you see it draining the entire sun. How the heck did it charge the first time to blow up the republic system?

I don't know... Maybe it doesnt NEED to drain the entire star to charge and they had already used part of the stars power to charge it the first time. Then they used up the remaining star power to charge it the second time?

I truly enjoyed it. The fact that it didn't explain every little detail, and left some plot points to be discussed and theorized by fans, is great fun. We'll eventually get answers, but we have to wait for the next episode...just like when we were kids!

Anyone else think that Kylo Ren looks just like Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, circa 1973?

I hear Kylo is currently working on his new album The Dark Side of THAT'S NO MOON!

Yep, you're like me...we're just taking it for what it is, just some silly fun. I can't imagine why anybody would get pannies in a wad over it.

I thought Kylo looked like Snape from Harry Potter. lol

In Episode IV, the Clone Wars, Jabba The Hutt, and the Emperor were only mentioned in passing as well.

Yup! Can you imagine if the original film were debuting in this day and age? Fanboys would be ripping it apart for all sorts of nitpicky crap!

^Which was fine in the first cause the canvas had just started to be filled in. We are in the 7th movie so asking for a bit of explanation since we are aware of the backstory isnt too much to ask.

Very fair point, but Disney really sees this as a reboot, and are really trying to parallel what worked with the original trilogy. Plus, a ton of backstory probably got cut out in the editing process.

At least we only have to wait 18 months this time around for more answers, instead of 3 years . . . lol

The novelizations for the original movies provided a ton of "backfill." That would have been all over the 'Net. Eps V and VI would have been ruined by spoilers.

There was a lot of extra material in the book. For example, in the book, Palpatine knew what Vader apparently didn't -- that Yoda trained Luke, and he called Luke on it.

Yeah I kind of remember... I also remember that Jabba said something about killing jedi when being one meant something, that luke jumps up and grabs to grate after falling into the Rancor Pit. That Ben said he and Owen were brothers. That Luke and Leia were 4 when their mom died. But that was 33ish years ago...

My proiblem with Snoke being Plagueis is you have a sith lord that cheated death decades before TPM and is so powerful that no other jedi or sith lord is able to detect him and his maneuvering both the Republic and the Galactic Empire for decades then how the HELL is Rey let alone Luke Skywalker going to be able to defeat him. Granted Ive never read an EU star wars novel, but it seems like in these movie's history no one could take down Plaggy.

But half the fun of these movies is learning new tidbits along the way. I personally think it's great that every damned detail isn't spelled out. We'll discover new information as the new films come out. In the meantime, fans will speculate and debate...which should be a FUN activity.

But see in the book that preceded the movie the relationship between The New Republic, The Resistence and the First Order is explained. All I'm asking is that JJ do a better job in the script so the average movie viewer can figure out what is what. After the first viewing I left the theatre wondering if the First Order had destroyed the New Republic?, Corsucant? and why is there a resistance to begin with. Granted a quick google answered all these, but I shouldn't have to google to figure out simple plot points.
