Women aren't physical equals to men for the most part. Men tend to be stronger, so a man punching a woman pretty much seals it for her and she will usually get her lights knocked out... especially if said dude is an althlete. Only a bully would hit a woman.

Its not an even match.... so MEN are supposed to walk away when a woman is acting foolish enough to think she can take on a guy. If she persists, then he is to call police and press charges.

If she is abusive and can't keep her hands to herself then she needs to be cut off and deemed undatable.

It is a pure punk move for a guy to hit a woman under any circumstance... with the ONLY exception being if his life is in danger.

Can you imagine what he will do to her once they get home? You better believe she will get the beating of her life for it. Blaming her for being fired from the NFL and all the negativity, etc.

Glad the CFL said they won't let him play for them either.

I was hoping if Ray Rice did go to the CFL he would take Justin Bieber with him (but drop him off in some remote part of the Yukon to be never seen again).

I agree with all 5 of your points. But you forgot about "classism". It's not an official word in the American English dictionary, but it needs to be. The issue of class (especially rich VS. poor) can never be overlooked.

Yes, Tony. This classism issue is especially a problem in the American so-called judicial system. If Ray Rice were the average broke negro, he'd be under a jail by now, especially if Janay was the mayor's daughter or something to that effect!

If Janay was a white woman, Ray would have been crucified far worse than OJ Simpson. And you know those racist white nationists (EXAMPLES: registered Stormfront members) are looking for more excuses to justify their resentment of black men all the time.

Not according to the uncut footage from inside the elevator. Ray slapped Janay first, then Janay charge at Ray in an attempt to fight back, and then Ray knocked Janay out with a left punch. That video is still on YouTube and it's hard to watch. disbelief

It will be interesting to see the reaction to a prominent gay or lesbian couple caught in similar situation. I've read that domestic abuse in gay and lesbian couples occur at the same rate as heterosexual couples.

Also, can people lay off Janay Rice. Just because her choices about her private life doesn't fit some peoples moral narrative, isn't an excuse to viciously attack her character. Remember she is the victim here. Why don't you concentrate your anger on Ray Rice, the NFL, and the local law enforcement?

I agree with all of this. Maybe we see her hitting him after she has been fed up from him comtinuously hitting her over a period of time and she decided to finally hit him back. We don't have the whole story and even without the whole story, I co-sign with what Sandra said.

You mean silly little things like voting on another war? Fat chance. They are avoiding that decision like the plague in spite of the constitution.

We need to organize and vote every one of those bastids out if they stick their noses into this while we piss away more blood and treasure abroad.

That's true....but I don't play dat!

I just sent the esteemed Senator Blumenthal the following email...

Dear Senator Blumenthal,

With yet another foreign conflict on the horizon I was quite appalled by the suggestion of congressional involvement in a matter that is between Mr Rice, his family, his employer and law enforcement.

I suggest that congress should first concern itself with matters more within it's purview such as war powers before grandstanding yet again over social issues that it has no constitutional mandate to become involved in.

Regards,

If anybody else would care to remind these SOBs what they are paid for here's the link if you don't live in his district you'll have to call or FB him....

It was reported yesterday that Ray Rice had lost the support of all his former Ravens teammates.

Althoug some on this thread would have you believe Ray Rice's pussified punchout of his then-fiance is no one else's business, those who work the National Domestic Violence Hotline would beg to differ:

http://www.huffingtonpost...1410369898

The National Domestic Violence Hotline has seen an 84 percent increase in phone calls in the two days since a video leaked of former NFL player Ray Rice knocking his then-fiancée unconscious in an elevator.

Katie Ray-Jones, the CEO of the hotline, said it normally receives 500 to 600 calls a day from domestic violence victims and their concerned friends or family members. But after the Rice video was circulated online Monday, the hotline received over 1,000 phone calls. The numbers continued to climb on Tuesday.

"We had an outpouring of women saying, 'Oh my god, I didn't realize this happened to other people.' They thought they were living a life that was very unique to them," Ray-Jones told The Huffington Post. "One woman called in who is married to a [mixed martial arts] fighter. She said, 'I just saw that video, and I know my husband could do worse, and I need help."

Ray-Jones said the hotline does not have enough advocates on staff to field the calls, which continue all night long. There are 15 to 18 staff members answering calls during the day and seven or eight overnight, but they were already overwhelmed before the surge of calls began earlier this week. The hotline also has a "relief staff pool," but it doesn't have the financial resources to sustain it for any significant period of time.

He was asked on a pre-game show if Ray Rice's situation was anything like the murder in which he was present/part of/in the wrong place for, and he very emphatically said it was not.
