So you didn't realize that a thread entitled "The 2014 NBA Finals" was a conversation about the NBA Finals that's happening this year? Yikes....

I already determined you don't comprehend things well so it's utterly useless to debate basketball with you. Yikes!

You don't make any sense at all and you're trying to paint me as the one with reading comprehension skills. What a lame attempt to deflect your ignorance onto me. Nice try though. My comments to you will cease here. Thanks.

So says the person who makes baseless claims about LeBron James. He is overrated and less of a player than Kevin Durant yet he whupped Durant's ass in the finals 4-1.Nevermind he is a2 time finals MVP champ.Your picture would be in the dictionary next to the word ignorance based on your basketball knowledge. Good riddance.

Before we jump all on the Spurs sack. Let's talk logic here. They are playing some outstanding ball right now but let's temper the dynasty talk. The Spurs have just gotten hot at the right time. They were pushed to a 7th game by the 8th seeded Dallas Mavs. eek

This is pretty much the same team with the exception of a few role players

that got ousted 3 years ago as the TOP SEED by the 8th seeded Memphis

Grizzlies. That's right! The following year OKC ran them out the playoff chase after dropping the first two games. The Mavs won the title a few seasons ago because they got hot at the right time in the playoffs and that's what we are witnessing with the Spurs. Some people up in here are talking about the Spurs like they have been fans all along and weren't even talking about the Spurs during the regular season. Just a few seasons ago people were talking about how old the Spurs were.

Same team as 2011 Spurs?-Not even close

Lucky-Getting hot at right time? The Spurs should of won championship last year.

Struggle with lower seed? 8th seed Mavs.Plenty of championship teams went the distance in 1st
round. How about 2008 Celtics or 2000 Lakers that were #1 seeds had elimination games in round one with 8th seed opponents.

I know the Spurs. You can check us out at SpursTalk.com smile

Okay Hatrina. It has to be that you simply dont like LBJ.What makes him overrated as a player. He has taken his team to 4 straight finals winning 2 of them and he is a 2 time MVP finalist. Please tell me how he is overrated. Give me some details to
support your claim. If you said this 3 years ago after failing to win a title against the Mavs i could have given you props but he has answered the critics since. All the haters have left is he is not Jordan but who is.There are plenty of haters and denial when it comes to this dude's talent.

yeahthat

Anyone who fells(at this point in their careers) Durant is a better all-around player than Lebron James doesn't know what the hell they're talking about. And this is coming from a Knicks fan who has nothing but hate for our longtime rival. But the eyes don't lie.

In other news, I heard on WFAN league sources are saying that Carmelo Anthony is leaning toward Houston or Chicago(IMO, Chicago would be a better fit). Apparently he's ticked at Phil Jackson for discussing his contract in public. Stay tuned.....

If you feel like wasting 12 minutes of your life, check out this video of LeBron making all these excuses, etc. I've never seen anything like this. Is it really necessary to sit down with the media and whine about your injury? At this point in the season, they are ALL hurt in some ways. Who are the delusional idiots who think this guy is the second coming?

The NBA Finals

Game 5

Miami Heat 87 San Antonio Spurs 104

The San Antonio Spurs knew they were on the verge of another NBA title, but the memory of last year's Finals was still stirring in their minds, as they felt they should have won last year's title but let it slip away. Miami, on the other hand, was desperately trying to stay alive, and they were determined to ramp up their lackluster play in this series.

And the Heat did just that early in the game. They caught the Spurs flat-footed and scored the first ten points of the game thanks to huge burst from Lebron James, and they led by as much as 16 points.

However, this would be their last run in this game and the Finals.

The Spurs woud come storming back into the game thanks to Manu Ginobili, who scored 19 points in the game and sparked their comeback with a huge dunk on Chris Bosh and followed that with a 3-pointer. They also got help from NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, who led the Spurs with 22 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds. And as they began pulling away from the Heat for good, they got even more contributions from Patty Mills, who scored 17 points off the bench. Tony Parker would finish the game with 16 points but went 0 for 10 from the floor until late in the third quarter when the Spurs were already up by 20 points. Tim Duncan scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Boris Diaw added five points while grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out six assists. Lebron James led the Heat with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, but his supporting cast was mostly MIA, as Chris Bosh was held to 13 points on six for 14 shooting from the floor and Dwyane Wade was held to 11 points on four for 12 shooting. Chris Andersen had an especially bad game, being held scoreless while also getting into foul trouble early.

But the night, series, and season belongs to the San Antoinio Spurs, who have won their fifth NBA title.

San Antonio wins series 4-1. woot! excited highfive dancing jig party clapping

Kawhi seems like a gem of a player. I think the Spurs will keep him for a very long time. I read on Twitter that his father was gunned down while he was at work. It's amazing to see Leonard get the MVP on Father's Day. Good for him!

Awww! I didn't know about his dad but I did notice that he kept looking up with a really bittersweet look in his eyes.

One thing I look forward to each year at the finals are seeing people throw random parties in the streets. This should be a particularly sweet victory for the Spurs and their fans. Congrats.

Makes me wonder if ESPN is still going to read from the same script that says Lebron would have won it had he not had "loser" teammates (snark)
