Does anyone remember the Cavs team Lebron took to the Finals.Replace Lebron with Carmelo Athony at that exact moment, same time in the league. The Cavs would of been one and done.Prime Duncan and Shaq could of took that Cavs team to the finals and his airness.

This news has officially blown up Twitter smile This full moon is crazy. Cleveland is having a lucky week with the GOP convention announcement, Lebron, etc. It will be interesting to see how the fans react. Some skeptics are saying this is a move to save face and an attempt to restore his potential legacy. I think he was humiliated with the Spurs destroying them, a much older Spurs team at that.

I haven't read his letter yet but I imagine someone else helped him fine tune it. He probably feels bad that he left Cleveland the way he did but I wonder if he's going back just because of the draft picks, etc. Grab the popcorn folks, the NBA is going to have an interesting year coming up soon...

I don't know much about the other players but aren't they draft picks from this year? I don't remember seeing an NBA finals full of rookies and like one veteran. This is really going to shake the deck in the NBA for a few years to come. Go Spurs, btw! Amazing how none of these dolts can't admit that the Spurs were a better team, period!

Your post is funny, TD lol lol I read some interesting conspiraces and speculation on Twitter that Lebron was probably plotting this. I don't know because I think if they wouldn't have been demolished by the Spurs, he would have stayed in Miami. With that said, it is also bizarre that Cleveland had the number one pic this year and for several years in a row it seemed. Isn't that draft lottery supposed to be random?

Lebron's PR team is amazing. Those people in Cleveland appear to be happy to get him back. I think when the owner removed that letter from the Cavs website a few days ago, it gave it away that Lebron was going to go back. Maybe this is the start of a new era for him but if Cleveland has a playoff shot, who would their main contenders be?

Asked another way, "will the Spurs land Pau Gasol?" Because if they do, then I see the Spurs securing their first back-to-back NBA titles. With their perimeter cast, and Big Fundy in the pivot, Gasol -- an afterthought in the D'Antoni Era -- could be resurgent.

Gasol could be a critical signing for the right team. If he signs with OKC, he makes the Thunder instantly better. If he signs with the Knicks, then he perhaps moves the Knicks closer to the front of a post-Heatles Eastern Conference. He's proven that when paired with a dynamic wing player, he can be the counterpunch that can get you to the Finals.

i'm going to pay dearly for that remark, I'm just kidding. Really. ohgoon

I guess all is fair in buisness and money because I thought ('The Decision', was a dumb-ass PR move) Cavs owners David Gillbret "letter" and the shit he pulled afterwards was reprehensible. My memory would have been a little bit longer than Mr. James.

We shall see if he can bring a Championship to Northwest Ohio. Nobody wanted to play in Cleveland when James was their the first timend arou and I doubt anyone will want to play there now. Yes, James is going to have to man up and get some tuffness in his gutt because the man is lacking. He going to have to snarl, get in team mates asses when they want to coast ,and put his team on his back and carry them sometimes. I don't think James has it in him...

I suspect Indy (even thought they had a meltdown) still, maybe but that depends on Rose (who getting on my last damn nerve) what free agents they sign. The East is a big question mark with Heat players moving on...

Lebron put the 2007 Cavs on his back and took them to the Finals. The second best player on that team was Mo Williams.

Contenders in the East? I'd say the Bulls with a healthy Rose, Pacers, and the Wizards are up and coming.

Power Forward/Center are interchangable like Shooting guard and Small forward.

Duncan's option was picked up for measley 10 million compare to those other outrageous contracts.

Gasol played PF when Bynum was on the floor and Center when Odom was on the floor.

The Return of the King

Lebron James returns home to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but is this the mighty return home or more of a prodigal son coming back to right his wrongs of the past?

Meanwhile, the NBA anxiously awaits the other shoe to drop, and the tension is downright Melodramatic. (Yes, it's a bad pun.) But reportedly Carmelo Anthony has narrowed his free agent search to returning to the New York Knicks or signing with the Chicago Bulls. Meanwhile, the Bulls are making an effort to sign Pau Gasol but can't extend an offer until they hear a decision on Melo. Also, the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to unload Kevin Love before his contract expires after this upcoming season, but they want huge assets in return. Should Cleveland seek to get K-Love, they reportedly want Andrew Wiggins in return.

As far as ID comments, what happened during that 2007 NBA finals, was it his arm or something... James excuse for fading away. Same thang happened the first year in Miami but that wasn't an arm excuse that was mental excuse. James has a rep of being a tad soft when he should be the man... James fans always say different but history has shown other wise. Still I have my beer already chilled because it's going to be a crazy good year for NBA ball. James is a BIG reason why.

SD, i-a-i-p is right. Gasol is a natural 4, though he did play the pivot in spot duty with Odom, or when necessary in Memphis and LA (when Bynum and D12 went down for extended stretches with injuries, most notably during the 2008 Finals run).

Though Chi-Town is now in front to get Gasol, for the Spurs to add yet another smart frontcourt player who can pass and create his own shot would be scary. As long as Parker stayed healthy they'd be unstuppable.

I chalk it up to the people of Ohio having some screws loose. If this would have been any other fan base this wouldn't have happened. The guy's PR team knew how to shape this "Decision 2.0" to make him not look as bad on the surface. But, never in the history of the NBA has a player been to the finals four years in a row and then opted out and left just one year after winning a championship and still having the entire team wanting to come back for the following year?

I'll say, especially after all those nasty personal attacks from Dan Gilbert and so-called 'fans'. Now I see folks wearing 'Forgiven' t-shirts. WTF does Lebron need forgiveness for? He did what any U.S. citizen has the right to do, to work at the place of his choosing. He didn't owe them jack shit.

Stupid ass fans....

I understand the first 'Decision'.....the second one makes zero sense. With a retooled Miami team, Lebron is guaranteed trips to the ECF and Finals. He'll make this young Cavs squad a playoff team, but I don't know how far they'll go with so much inexperience. Now if they're able to get Kevin Love, that's a different story. Lebron, Love & Irving is a nice trio.

IMO, there's some behind-the-scenes shit going on that we'll never know about.

Carmelo's back with the Knicks. I'm not happy about that max contract, but whatever. Knicks are still a bottom seed in the east.
