I'm predicting the Spurs. I'll go with them in five games, although it might take seven. But I think they are an unstoppable force right now.

The NBA Finals

Game 1

Miami Heat 95 San Antonio Spurs 110

The San Antonio Spurs have waited an entire year for this moment to avenge their loss in the 2013 NBA FInals which they believe they should have won but let slip out of their grasp. This time, however, they have the home court advantage, and it would make itself apparent in a way not seen since the 1980's Boston Celtics championship teams.

Prior to the beginning of this contest, the HVAC system in the AT&T Center went on the fritz, leaving the teams and fans without air conditoning. The game would go on anyway, and early on it was the Miami Heat that felt at home with the high temperatures inside the arena. But Manu Ginobili would come off the bench and give the Spurs a spark, gving them the lead at the end of the first quarter. Yet Miami would make this a back and forth affair, and their defense would force an uncharacteristically large number of turnovers for San Antonio. Lebron James led the Heat with 25 points, six assists, three rebounds, and three steals, but the rising temperatures would take a toll on his body later on. Chris Bosh was hot early on, scoring 18 points and grabbing nine rebounds, while Dwyane Wade scored 19 points and Ray Allen added 16 points. The Heat would go on to take a seven point lead early in the fourth quarter. But then the heat would be too much for the Heat to handle.

Lebron James asked to be pulled out of the game but was not noticed by his coaches early on. He soldiered on, though, but then the Spurts exploded from behind the 3-point line. They were sparked by Danny Green, who hit three straight 3-pointers to pull the Spurs even with the Heat. Lebron would exit the game briefly, but once San Antonio took the lead on a Tim Duncan layup, he would re-enter the game. He drove to the basket to make an impressive layup but immediately pulled up with cramping in his legs and was unable to move down the floor. He would have to be carried back to the bench, and the Spurs took advantage of his absence, getting huge 3-point shots fromn Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker to go on a huge run to pull away from Miami and win easily. Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Tonay Parker scored 19 points and dished out eight assists, Manu Ginobili scored 16 points and dished out 11 assists, Tiago Splitter scored 14 points, and Danny Green scored 13 points including those three 3-pointers. They even got good production from the bench, as Boris Diaw grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out six assists while Marco Belinelli scored nine points.

San Antonio leads series 1-0.

I expect this to be a six or seven game series like last season except I think the Spurs pull it out this time.

Fans hating on Lebron for taking himself out really need to STFU. Dude couldn't move - what's he supposed to do? He's had cramping issues before....unfortunately, it came at a bad time.

These haters are nothing but armchair quarterbacks who never played sports.

C'Mon, uPtoWnNY . . . they played sports! Remember that time "They" were in the state A basketball semifinals and tweaked "Their" ankle? Or the time "They" puked in junior varsity football practice but still finished the Oklahoma Drill? Or they time "They" ran 8 games of 3-on-3 in a row at the Rec Center?

That AUTOMATICALLY gives "Them" the experience to dog LBJ out.

Tell them Uptown and a lot of them waited until after the game to talk

shit and know if LeBron would have finished the Spurs were likely headed for an L. Like you stated most of those folk never played sports so they wouldn't know what it's like to try to run more or less walk with leg cramps. I'm not a Heat fan and don't own any jerseys but my god the nonsense is ridiculous. LeBron will respond to the critics

like he always do by bringing his A game and helping his team win. I've never seen an athlete in my life get criticized so much for simply existing.

Lebron is getting a bad rap for those cramps. I dont know anyone who could or should even try to play through that sort of pain.

The haters are still upset about 'The Decision', forgetting that Lebron was a free agent. He did everything he could for that team of scrubs, even took them to the Finals. But he had enough and did what every american has the right to do. Was it handled correctly? No, but that was years ago, and he's grown up since then.

As for the Jordan comparisons - Lebron may not win as much as Jordan, and he may not have Jordan's assassin mentality, but his OVERALL game is better. To me, Lebron is hybrid of Jordan and Magic. He can score and defend like Michael, rebound and facilitate like Magic.

Agreed. How soon we fans forget that MJ caught a lot of the SAME criticism when his 80s teams couldn't beat the C's and Pistons. And that Magic caught a lot of flak for mental weakness AFTER he'd won 2 titles. AND that Kobe also caught criticism for not winning without Shaq, at a time when the Lakers' roster was a grease fire (full disclosure: I had issues with Kobe over Shaq and Phil leaving but he was left with a bad roster in the years that followed).

LBJ's story isn't close to completion. If we read the books of many of the greats at the SAME point where LBJ is now, we'd find a lot of similarities.

The NBA Finals

Game 2

Miami Heat 98 San Antonio Spurs 96

The Miami Heat, and Lebron James in particular, faced a lot of criticism after their loss to San Antonio in game 1 after Lebron was forced out of the game in the fourth quarter due to leg cramps. However, recent history has been on their side, as the Heat have won the following playoff game after a loss. And Lebron wanted to prove to critics he was ready to play.

And Lebron James came out with a vengeance. Despite the Spurs getting off to a good start, Miami was aggressive in going to the basket, and Lebron led the way with 35 points and 10 rebounds in the game. However, San Antonio would jump out to an 11 point lead in the second quarter, but Lebron would bring them back to tie the game at the half.

From that point on it was a very tight and back and forth affair, as there were numerous ties and lead changes on both sides. But Lebron was aggresive throughout, and he got help from Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, and Rashard Lewis. Tony Parker led the Spurs with 21 points and seven assists, and Tim Duncan scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Manu Ginobili scored 18 points off the bench while Boris Diaw was also solid off the bench, scoring seven points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out five assists, but Kawhi Leonard struggled in this game, having to defend Lebron James and getting into foul trouble, eventually fouling out with just nine points. Danny Green also struggled in this game, being limited to just nine points in 18 minutes of play.

Nevertheless, the Spurs would lead by one with a minute and a half remaining in the contest, but Chris Bosh would hit a critical 3-pointer to put Miami in the lead with 1:17 remaining, and after a Lebron James free throw and a missed jumper by Manu Ginobili, Bosh would make a huge assist to Dwyane Wade as he hit a layup to seal the victory with nine seconds remaining. Bosh finished with 18 points while Dwyane Wade and Rashard Lewis each finished with 14 points. The Spurs would miss a couple of shots down the stretch before Ginobili would hit a 3-pointer as time expired, but it was too little too late. The Finals now moves to south Florida.

Series tied at 1-1.

Just like I predicted. LeBron bounces back and lead his team to a victory.

This will be one hell of a series.

Those four straight misses at the free throw line came back to haunt the Spurs.

If Lebron did that, imagine what the haters would say.

Funny you brought that up. I think the perceptions of LBJ are very similar to perceptions of Wilt. Although he was a great player, and a champion, he caught a lot of criticism too.

Erving caught a lot of flak for not winning an NBA title, but then came 1982-83.

The NBA Finals

Game 3

San Antonio Spurs 111 Miami Heat 92

The San Antonio Spurs were disappointed with their play in the second half of game 2, and they were particularly disappointed with the struggles of Kawhi Leonard, who was off to a subpar Finals series. However, he was determined to play much better in game 3.

And boy did the Spurs come out in this game. They grabbed an early lead, despite Miami actually shooting about 60% from the field. Yet while the Heat was hot offensively, the Spurs were absolutely nuclear explosive from the field, shooting a record 76% from the floor in the frist half. They were led by Kawhi Leonard, who rebounded from his two subpar games by scoring 29 points in this game. The other major adjustment San Antonio made in this game was putting Boris Diaw in the starting lineup, and he did not disappoint, scoring nine points, grabbing five rebounds, but more importantly keeping the ball moving offensively and playing solid defense. The Spurs played ridiculously well in the first half, scoring 41 points in the first quarter and ending the first half with 71 points.

But Miami would make one huge run to get back into the game. They were once again led by Lebron James and Dwayne Wade, who each scored 22 points, and Rashard Lewis, who scored 14 points on four of five shooting from behind the 3-point line. The Heat cut the Spurs' 25 point lead down to seven points just before the end of the third quarter. But then the Heat got into foul trouble, and the Spurs took advantage, hitting their free throws and some key shots to build their lead to near 20 points and cruised to victory. Tony Parker each scored 15 points for San Antonio while Tim Duncan added 14 points. Ray Allen scored 11 points for Miami.

San Antonio leads series 2-1.
