Jada Pinkett-Smith Speaks Out Against Divorce Rumors

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are the epitome of a real Hollywood relationship so news of a pending divorce that hit the rumor mill late last year had their fans bracing their hearts.

According to Jada though, all is well on the home front. Will is fine. The kids are fine and they are still one big happy family. She recently sat down with French Magazine Gala to dish the tea on what’s really going on behind the scenes, blaming the couple’s lack of time together on their hectic work schedule:

Every year, a celebrity couple is on the radar. This year, unluckily, it’s us! I almost want to say that we should have been expecting it. But Will and I know the truth. We are waiting peacefully for when the storm ends.

These rumors are completely untrue. I’m traveling a lot because of my work, as Will does. And the fact that I’m accompanying our daughter, Willow, on her trips, while Will spends time with our son, Jaden, doesn’t make things easier. But our way of living hasn’t changed. Before the children, we were already away from each other quite often because of our work.

In general, Will and I take two months of holiday, at the end of the year. Right after Thanksgiving, we shut down the curtain and nothing comes to bother our family life until January.

Will and Jada have also faced constant scrutiny on their parenting style with folks ranting about everything from their daughter’s constant hair color changes, to questioning if they are working their kids too hard. According to Jada, she’s letting her kids express themselves and the best way to do that is to avoid living through them.

Jaden is almost 14 and Willow 11, and as a mom, I’m really proud to see them following their passions. With Will, we let them enough space to let them express themselves and reach their dreams. We are avoiding to live through them.

I spent my youth in the streets of Baltimore, drugs were circulating at home. Will had a tough youth as well. So, you know, I’d rather than Jaden and Willow grow up in Hollywood than with drug addicts.

Their marriage is "INTACT"

Why us? That's what Jada Pinkett Smith has been wondering, after she and husband Will Smith became the latest star couple to be subject to rumors of marital strife.

Asked why the speculation won't go away, she tells French magazine Gala: "I have no idea! Every year, one celebrity couple is under the microscope. This year, unluckily, it's us! I almost want to say that we should have been expecting it."

She adds: "Will and I know the truth. We're waiting peacefully for the storm to blow over."

Jada, 40, acknowledges that she and Will, 43, spend lots of time apart. But it's always been that way, she adds.

"These rumors are completely untrue," she says. "I travel a lot because of my work, just like Will does. ... But our lifestyle hasn't changed. Before we had the kids, we were already far away from each other quite often because of separate projects."

Asked about the rumor that they no longer live under the same roof, she replies: "That's ridiculous. We've always lived together."

Things aren't about to slow down, either. Will is currently filming the M. Night Shyamalan movie After Earth with Jaden, 13. And this summer, Jada will be hitting the road with Willow, 11, who is going on tour as a singer.

"As a mom, I'm very proud to see them pursuing the things they love," says Jada. "We leave them enough space to express themselves and make their dreams come true. We leave them free to make their own choices. We try not to live through them."

Yeah really. Nobody is picking on this couple. If anything, peeps in their inner circle are spilling some beans for a quick paycheck. Celebs in truly happy marriages are never in the tabloids. When is the last time you saw some low down gossip on these marriages?

One thing I took from the bible besides "love thy neighbor" and "why claim to love me when you don't love your fellow man?" was "what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?" Will Smith seems like the type. I don't know what he and Jada are thinking putting their children on Hollywood like that and then allowing Willow Smith to go on Twitter and keep on spreading the rumor that she's unstable. There's even a rumor she's friends with Tyler the Creator.
