name of painting: a sunday afternoon on the island of lagrand jatte.

when one thinks of the size of this painting (which hangs in the chicago art institute), and the work G.P. Seurat put into it, it's like "WOW."

The painting is approximately 2 by 3 meters (6 ft 10 in x 10 ft 1 in) in size, and is a series

of minature dots of colors (tehchnique is known as pointillism).

you might remember this painting, it's in one of the scences from the 'ferris bueller's day off'movie.

anyway today, i'm loving this picture and enjoying the beautifulness in it. imo Seraut was a genius!

I love the rainforest in Washington...I took these near Mt. Rainier while camping this past summer. I took my 13 year old grandson. Just us two...Pictures don't come close to capturing the beauty. It literally took my breath away.
