Those were GREAT! Thank you for sharing! (or rather, allowing us to browbeat you into sharing! lol )

biggrin

I guess I really should read the instruction manual instead of just snapping away, boxed

Your pix always come out so great. Did you take classes or just have a knack for picture taking?

lol

hug thanks for the compliment...I try to pic the best setting for the pic...and take dozens of them...1 out of every 10 maybe is a real great shot (which I'll post). Unless you have a really, really good camera then indoor shots like yours are hard to take.

Looks great!

Last week I dropped my camera, and then stopped turning on. I charged it and tried nearly everything. But nothing happened. I should've worn the damn safety strap. duh

After a while googling for answers, I found out that the cost to repair it would be more than an actual camera, so now it appears that I won't be taking any pictures anytime soon. neutral

AMAZON!!!!

mr.green

Actually there are sites on Youtube and whatever that can try to guide you step-by-step to try and repair some of those problems. Often when you drop a camera, there's a weird solution like; "Hold the power On button for 30 seconds while hitting the XYZ button" or something like that.

I tried it all with my old one, and even took it apart (most of the way) to try and fix it myself, but I think that the motor which extended the lens was fried.

Like you said, it was cheaper to just buy a new one.

Geez, if I tried fixing it myself, I'd end up making it worse! I barely know how to connect a DVD player to a TV, let alone take apart a camera! lol Yeah, I think that's what happened to mine too.

I'll have to just save up and wait to get a new one then!

Try and google it anyway...there's funky ways of trying to coax them back to life.

That really is an amazing price. Even if it might not have the best optics or features, just the mere fact that it's an SLR (or does it just look like one?) and actually takes pictures tells you it's a great deal.

Megapixels don't matter much these days, at least not for most users. Back when a new camera used to have around 3-4 MP, making prints larger than a regular sheet of paper was definitely an issue, but now pretty much every camera out there is sufficient.

What matters more is compact vs. SLR. The compact ones usually force you to look at the inaccurate, tiny LCD screen that gets very hard to look at in direct sunlight whereas the SLRs have excellent viewfinders. It's also very difficult to hold a small compact camera steady enough for a sharp picture, so the SLRs are far superior in that important department too. Plus you can change lenses on the SLR, which is a huge advantage.

I currently use a Nikon D7000 and I'm very happy with it. All the features you could ask for, excellent optics, and a nice HD movie mode as a bonus. The only slight disappointment was that it doesn't perform quite as well as I'd hoped for in low light (I often shoot under low light conditions) but it's still way better than all the other consumer-level models on the market right now.

No...it only LOOKS like an SLR! lol

Haven't had a chance to truly test it out yet. pout

But regardless....it has a 15X optical zoom...THAT alone makes it worth the price!
