So far I've downloaded two ghetto homemade softwares, and obviously they couldn't rip a DVD worth a damn otherwise I wouldn't pose this question.

So if you guys know any good ones, hit me up with title please.

It looks decent, though I don't have a Mac or iPad, but I would probably definitely look into using this one if I did.

I use a few different programs...

You can rip the DVD with Mactheripper

And you can convert the DVD using MPEG Streamclip

both programs are free.

Also, there's a GREAT app for the iPad called Azul media player, which plays ALL video files, including DVD/Video_ts files. Azul also allows you to directly download videos from Megaupload and other sharing sites.
