I do like a woman who smells good. But, honestly, most women's fragrances are too wildly fruity or floral. I'm perfectly fine with a woman who smells of a nice talc, cocoa or shea butter, or black soap.

As designer fragrances go, I prefer scents that are tempered with woodsy, gourmand, citrus, spicy or "oriental" notes. Some balances I like are...

Patchouli drool I'll always have an fondness for a woman wearing Eternity by Calvin Klein

Patchouli?!! Seriously?!

That scent reminds me of he-she's or hippies. lol

I'm with you on Eternity though. biggrin

absolutely, patchouli...not the cheap dollar store incense kind...but even that has a special place in my he/she hippie loving heart...

How is it you feel?

I'm not a fan of that either. It reminds me of college kids.

I've never received a compliment on my perfume when it was a floral scent - which I'm not a fan of and never really wear...but I seiously can't go anywhere without being harassed (not complaining) when I wear vanilla blends.

So I'd say anything vanilla, sugar, coconut, candy, even berry scents. I have a cherry vanilla that makes dudes weak in the knees but the scent that gets the most reaction is my Warm Vanilla Sugar perfume.

Yes, this is along the lines of my angel food cake post. When a woman smells like dessert, I find that hot.

I hate stepping into an empty elevator and I can still smell the strong perfume of somebody that was in the elevator before me. Some people definitely over do it.

The ones my sweetie and I both have liked on me were always deeper scents that were kind of floral, but with vanilla, musk, and amber notes to them. He likes Marc Jacobs Lola, Classique, Juicy Courture, Stella, Givenchy Play, and from Bath and Body Works, Sensual Amber, Twighlight Woods, and Black Amethyst. I've always gotten the most compliments when I've worn Sensual Amber nod

I got this perfume called Rock Princess, by Vera Wang, I bought it scent unsmelled based on its description: "Perfumer of this edition is Calice Becker of Givaudan and the fragrance features white peach, red raspberry, bergamot, heliotrope, vintage-inspired rose, night blossoming jasmine, lily, cashmere, musk, iris and creamy coconut."

I find it very subtle and I LOVE the bergamot thing nod

I read a review of it: "smells like cheap wine pluse cough syrup." falloff falloff

thumbs up!

I'm sure Heaven smells of bergamot.

From my observation, most men seem to like the sugary, cutesy smells (in moderation of course), most "grown" women can't stand them, which makes working in a mixed environment, very, interesting and of course everybody has an allergy to everything (except when worn by folks they really like), as I said it's an interesting observation. Personally, I'm fond of herbal, warm spicy even soft earthy smells, not so much the floral ones they seem to make my nose itch maybe rose like scents in some cases, fruit smells don't bother me though I prefer citrusy fragrances overall.

I also like how it lingers on clothes I wear

I also have regular princess and glam princess, I love them all (flower princess not so much!) heart

How do the Regular and Glam compare to Rock Princess? I was afriad to waste money on Glam.

Which cherry vanilla do you use and where do you get it?

I have tried different perfume's with the same scent, but none seem to get it right.

I'm not the best person to ask, my olfactorial sense is a bit messed up, but I LOVE it - I hate floral scents, and it certainly isn't that.

I got both mine from fragrancex.com - but be warned, if you aren't in the US, and choose free shipping it can take your order 100+ days to arrive!!! which if you pay with paypal, is beyond their 45 days to get your money back.

the master HATES perfumes, he hates walking past the perfume department in a store - can't do it without grimacing and complaining rolleyes

but he thinks the vera wang ones are good, especially this one, which in his opinion smells like "lollies" lol

Lucky, because I like that too - my tastes are very unsophisticated.

Somebody mentioned amber. Yaaaarg! The pure rocks that you can just rub right on yourself - that stuff makes me wet. drool It was always a much better choice for stinky hippies than patchouli, imo.

I agree with him on the perfume department thing. I love to shop with women in general - its actually kind of a turn on for me. But the perfume and makeup departments I can't do. Something about the overpowering mixture of smells, all the glass and the lights, plus all the women trying to out-beauty each other, blech. lol Just puts me in full-on agitated mode with a quickness.

I have to admit I'll go in there, spray the tester on myself and on a card, then get the hell out of there and then buy the damn thing off the internet.

Shopping with me is a speedy thing, I'm WAAAAAAY faster if I do it alone though, the master has to stop and look at every little thing dead
