I just wonder why this case is a national obsession when so many heinous murders happen all the time and barely get a blip on the national scale.

That said, from what I know of the evidence, much of it was circumstantial, and the prosecutors have a hard job. Most people I know that followed the case closely believe she was guilty, but ultimately it's up for a jury to decide.

She was tried before a jury of her peers and found not guilty.

........But not before Casey was found "guilty until proven innocent" since 2008 according to the eyes of public opinions.

If you're obstructing justice and lying to the cops then why isn't that proof enough that you are guilty or at least partly guilty? Shit Martha Steward went to jail for not saying shit and this heffa here says all the lies in the world and she gets off? Yeah i know it's a different crime/charge but its a matter of principle IMO- lying which is a form of obstructing justice denotes some degree of guilt.

How in the living hell's fire is this stupid bitch considered not guilty? Guilty of lying to police but not guilty of murder or even neglect? Well, duh....why the hell did she even lie to the police if she wasn't guilty? Did she lie just for kicks? That bitch is a damn lie and the truth ain't in her and she's guilty as sin too. Any idiot can see that.

That's alright though. That bitch thinks she can go out and party now like she was before she was arrested but she's got a rude awakening coming to her. Those folks in those clubs aren't going to welcome her with open arms like they did before. And a lot of folks think she's guilty and got away with it and are pissed. Let her go up in those clubs now. She may get a well deserved ass whoopin'.

Casey will NEVER go back to the clubs ever again. For anything, she going to "find God" and give herself up to "The Lord". rolleyes

Just wait. lol

And all those internet seaches on cloroform and neck breaking, not to mention finding the child's body in the woods with tape on her mouth. If she drowned in the pool, then how did she end up in the woods and who put her body there, the Easter Bunny? And if you're not guilty, why was the body even moved from where it was drowned?

If I were going to find the Lord, it would have been when I was facing a possible death penalty and confessed before it was too late. She didn't know if she was going to die or not and the Lord never even entered her brain. That little bitch is just evil to the bone and will probably never find the Lord.

In the cases of Martha Stewart & Lil'Kim, they ended up in prison for "not snitching".

These days, "Not Snitching" and/or not reporting anything at all to law enforcers and investigators counts as lying under oath.

I would like to know what evidence, or lack thereof led the jury not to convict. If it is strictly circumstancial with no actual evidence other than that, they made the right choice.

I don't think she should have gotten the death penalty (she's obviously mentally insane) but she should get life in prision or AT LEAST be found guilty of child abuse, I mean really. My head exploded when I learned the news

As long as there is reasonable doubt, she would have been found, not guilty. Yes, she was killed, but there are doubts as to how and where.

If I were on the jury, I could have never let those lies slide by me without a good explanation for them so it would have ended up a hung jury. Plus, knowing what a high profile case this is and that sooooo many people in the general public want an explanation for those lies just like I would, I would be scared for my own self letting her walk out there not guilty because that jury is going to catch just as much hell from the public as she is.

I also would have prefer for the case to end in a hung jury. As least Casey would have stay in prison while waiting for a new trial. nod
