people who don't work weekends will have got fri/sat/sun & mon off this week

we get about 8 official days (bank holidays) off every year, that's on top of annual leave so can't complain really.. i think we have it better than usa?

Calm down people!

This isn't the Superbowl or anything like that. lawd.

They couple looked really great though. The bride was beautiful.

But seriously, you would have thought this was the Superbowl or Oprah's last episode. Yall need to calm down.

When she said "they all worship on Saturday over there", I figured she must have misunderstood a few things.

I wasn't paying much attention to the hype before today but I am glad we got to watch the event on TV. Nice to see everyone having so much fun.

I wanna see more happy stuff on TV and more stuff from other countries too.

We should start a petition to make the Super Bowl a national holiday though. biggrin

I remember wondering what the big deal was when Prince Charles & Diana got married & when I saw parts of it on tv I remember going eek when I saw all the pageantry.

So this time around, I knew I would watch, but I didn't follow the pre-wedding hype. I also didn't get up to watch it. I recorded it, then avoided any images of it today. It was busy at work so it was not hard to do. I wanted to see it "live". I also wanted to be able to fast forward through the commercials & more drivel commentary.

I found this all incredibly beautiful, very pristine.

I've always wanted to go to England and now I really, REALLY want to go.

Being a dude from middle America, I didn't think I would care. But we just watched the highlights on BBC, and I thought it was fantastic. Absolutely beautiful and dignified, and it made me jealous. I'll admit, I lost it when the WW2 bomber and fighters did a fly-by.

They'd make a cute couple... if Pippa could tame Harry.

And Pippa's dress was ferocious, BTW! sexy

I have an uncharitable theory that young Pippa was executing a devilish plot to upstage the bride in a cold and vicious piece of sibling rivalry. Beneath the smiles it was knives at dawn, I tell you! hmmm wink

eek

I read an article that said that Princess Diana would always assure Prince Harry that he was just as handsome as his big brother. Well I thought she was just being a loving mom, but she was telling the truth. Actually now, Harry looks better than Will... who is (as someone else has mentioned is starting to look like his dad.

I was the Matron of Honor at my sister's wedding. She picked out my dress. I think that is the tradition. If Pippa upstaged her sister, it happened by Kate's choice.

Hmm, I dunno... I'm seeing Pippa seething as she surreptitiously phones the dressmakers to 'correct' a mistake with the order. "So, little miss goody-two-shoes Kate is the talk of the town for marrying a prince. Well, we'll see who they're all talking about on the day..... [insert evil laugh here]" wink

a) I think Wills is far more handsome than Harry (and that Harry is the love child of Diana and that red-headed guard she had an affair with)

prince harry can definately be seen in the younger charles pics

i've still got my bunting up, not ready to take it down yet!..it's being dragged out 4 a bit more.

i slept most of the day yesterday, done in from it all & people that said they couldn't be arsed with it suddenly know ALL the details wink

I didn't watch the thing live. I just saw bits of it on TV. William is so cute. He seems really nice. I actually felt sorry for him at times cause he seemed so shy. I think if it was up to him, he'd be standing there alone with his bride and two witnesses. He didn't seem to like the attention and Kate looked beautiful. I admired how calm she seemed to be. They both looked so happy and I wish them all the best. And yeah, Harry is hot.

This is the first wedding I've seen where the bridal party comes down the aisle after the bride instead of before...is that common?

It was kinda funny when the Queen had to stand there quietly while everybody sings God Save The Queen, lol
