Of course I'm going to watch! I was up at 5:00am. I'm from Canada and I have roots in England, so I wouldn't miss this for anything. I love Kate's dress. Very elegant, but not over the top. They look like a very happy couple in love. I certainly hope they are.

Best of luck to them!

I read that the bride's sister caused a stir in the royal family by arranging for one of the rooms at the palace to be decorated with a discoball for an after party lol

Kate looked beautiful, nothing over the top nor was her look too simple that it's bland, it was just the right amount of elegant.

and her dad seems like he was quite the looker in his younger years lurking

Aw hell, sounds like she wants to party!

That reminds me of the girl in "Under The Cherry Moon" that got with the band in front of all those stuffy people and started chanting....

TPT was at their wedding! That's their guest list; heads of state other royals and junkie coke heads? Says alot about them, I guess just cause William was born into royalty does mean class comes as standard.

I read that her parents are very close friends of his father..

my cousin got married last year; her hubby's mother was trying to invite everybody she knew.. rolleyes lol

Wasn't actually interested in the wedding itself (that much). But I do like to see people jubilant and having a good time in the streets. There's so little of that in the news today that if it takes a royal wedding to at least get a few people happy for a minute, then so be it! I was mainly only interested in watching the guest arrivals to see what everybody wore. Sadly, I've found Germany to be rather casual in its wedding attire comapred to other EU nations, or even the US, and I miss seeing people spit shined and dressed in their Sunday best smile

I will look at the re-caps on T.V and via on-line. From the pictures and videos I just saw, they had a very nice wedding. They match astrologically too! She is a Capricorn and he is a Cancer; and have many compatible planetary aspects.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie of York

Now this is what we wanted: real, regal, majestic insanity. Eugenie looks like Carmen Miranda by way of Jessica McClintock, and Beatrice regrettably appears to have had a giant trivet installed on her forehead. We've decided this was revenge for their mother, Sarah Ferguson, being left off the guest list due to her most recent disgrace. Come on, QEII, what's a little harmless secret-selling between former in-laws?

I don't know who any of them are. redface

The one in beige looks like she should be selling fancy toilet seats at a crapper convention.

There is still a shop on the north side of Milwaukee that sells "church hats." I try to get over there a couple times a year. Usually, I just try them on (most are very expensive), but I've bought a couple lulus. cool

I've already warned my German friends that for my wedding, they should not be surprised to see a stampede of American ladies in full regalia taking up the pews. We are going to represent no no no! . You'd be absolutely appalled if you saw how people dress for weddings here. They all might as well be on their way to Happy Hour at Red Lobster...on Causal Friday. disbelief

I share your pain. disbelief

I saw a comment elsewhere about how Kate's long sleeves looked matronly. I thought, "She's getting married in a church. To a prince. What part of "appropriate attire" escapes you?"

I get so tired of seeing hoochie-esque wedding dresses. Long sleeves photograph better - period.

I got up this morning and turned on the TV so I could listen to the morning local news while I got ready for work like I do every morning. Instead of the morning local news, this shit was on. What the hell were they doing getting married at 6:00 in the damn morning anyway? lol

It was on all three networks so I just left it on while I was getting ready. I had to turn it off because that damn operatic sounding "choir singing" was getting on my last damn nerve. I don't know why people choose such boring ass music for such occassions. If it had been me, I would have had a damn "Soul Train" line coming down the aisle with plenty of ass shakin'. lol

Damn, andy! You and I have the same morning routine! lol I usually wake up anywhere between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM and immediately turn on the news to listen to what's happening and to get the weather report so I'll know what to pick out to wear to work. And this morning I turned it on and there it was all over the damn TV. You couldn't avoid it unless you went to the non-network channels and even some of them had the fever.

Just like the damn tornado coverage. All the networks preempted regular programing from about 5:00 PM-8:00 PM sensationalizing what turned out to be a big thunderstorm in my area. They had my ass running for cover and not a damn thing happened. It poured buckets for about 10 minutes and then that was it, but to hear them tell it, my friggin house was about to explode, "TAKE COVER! TAKE COVER! IT IS IMMINENT!

You do realize that television broadcasts aren't personalized. Right? And that tornadoes affect (usually) a very small area - while a thunderstorm may be a mile (or more) wide?

Would you prefer that they give no warning at all - and your damn house gets blown away?

Yeah, you're right, but they were specifically naming my very, very small town. And yes, I do realize that tornados can turn on a dime. And yeah, I wanna be warned just in case.

With tornadoes, the damage can be as narrow as a single street - or even a single house. I've seen cases where one house was badly damaged and the one right next door was untouched. And it's rare for them to stay on the ground for long.

I used to do TV weather for a living (it was my first career) and it is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" proposition. People are pissed that you're breaking into their favorite show, pissed if they spend an hour in the basement and their houses don't blow away, and pissed if their houses do blow away and you didn't get on the air fast enough.

I'm glad I don't do it, anymore. Now I can enjoy the storms, make my own assessment of any imminent threat, and not be responsible for anyone else's safety or pissed-off-ness.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
