I'd stand in line to sign a petition that all employees of fast food companies be trained during employee orientation on "defusing hostile/violent customers."

A simple course for fast food workers on defusing hostile situations would allow the new and current employees to know what to do ahead of time. (The should all be either put on suspension or terminated for "not using common sense," as well as brought up for questioning by the top HR manager of that McDonalds district.)

That poor victim did not deserve the humilation and pain brought on. The two perpetrators should have been met at the door by the police had the on-looking employees been (trained in) doing their job. McDonald's needs to update their current training for all employees, and the two perps should get their just due from the criminal court.
