woman gets a beating in a mcdonalds, and not one employee..

does anything to help her. It's nauseating to watch the video. I hope the victim sues mcdonalds for billions..

http://www.liveleak.com/v...1303444048

Violence in another Mc Donalds almost kills customer
Here is another fine example of the trend of violence in fast food restaurants. Two females beating the hell out of a patron, while several employees stand by and watch. One male manages to provide the facade of assistance to the victim in this brutal attack.

The two females exit, then re-enter the store to continue the beating, until a an older woman attempts to stop them from dragging the victim outside into the parking lot. note: the male employees have disappeared from camera view, even though they are plenty well capable of stopping the attack.

At the end, the white victim is beaten until she has a seizure, at which point the camera operator warns the female attackers to flee, because the police are on the way. Note: he makes sure to repeatedly tell the criminal attackers to flee, instead of keeping them there for the police to apprehend.

4.19 pm EST UPDATE: response from Mc Donalds: "We are shocked by the video from a Baltimore franchised restaurant showing an assault. This incident is unacceptable, disturbing and troubling. McDonald's strives to be a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who visits. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of customers and employees in our restaurants. We are working with the franchisee and the local authorities to investigate this matter."

Allegedly, the victim was a transgendered woman:

99 billion to be exact. confused

This is revolting. I hope the two who did this are apprehended, and I do hope the victim sues the living daylights out of both the franchise and the company for failing to correct a situation dangerous to a patron. I can understand employees being nervous to actually jump into the fight in an attempt to stop it, but at the very least they could have offered shelter to the victim behind the counter or in a back room/office.

As an aside, I'm not sure exactly why the element of race is injected into the article. I don't recall any racial epithets being slung around in the video coverage, so what appears to be a black/white element may be entirely incidental. It was a very poor editorial decision that could color and inflame an already charged, yet contained, event.

sad Why didn't she flee or atleast fight back? If you fight back... most attackers give up quicker. They know they'll have a real fight on their hands... and these girls would stop, walk away, take a breather and come back more ready, and she just stood there... sad

When does self preservation kick in? This is horrible... those people who watched this happen are sick, the girls that did this need to go to jail. disbelief

The group mentality of ganging up on someone happens all the time on the org. When a person of perceived difference is seen in an ostensibly sensitive situation or vulnerable place, people use the opportunity to exploit their weakness and abuse them. And that's exactly what I gather from this video - people repelled by something/someone who is different and everyone just kinda aimlessly staring around like it was supposed to be that way and no one should help.

That behavior is then justified by saying the person begged for it, warranted it, etc.

These ways of thinking are pervasive - they don't reside wholly within people who hang out in a McDonald's as opposed to on the internet.

I see people disagreeing, people standing up for their friends, people asking provacative questions and controversial hot button issues being discussed... sometimes passionately.

This video.... shit... do you see the apathy?? I would be ashamed to even associate with someone so mean in spirit to hurt a person this way.

We need to look out for one another more in society, even if they don't look like us, stand up and do not allow this abuse.

Its easy to feel sorry for people when they look like you or share your experience, but if they don't would we still stand up and help? Many don't... if they don't look like us... we will not help them. Its a real reflection of what's been happening forever in society.... I hope we finally stop allowing shit to happen around us.

Its a reflection of us all... one that brings me shame... and one that brings me to a call to action to not allow bullshit around me ever.... even if the person doesn't look like me.

Its an old story displayed that should change us to be more compassionate as a society in general.... to ALL the victims around us.

that poor woman rose

I've only watched a few seconds (not sure if I can see the whole thing) and she's already kicked to the head several times.

You've in the past mentioned about folk not being able to relate enough to chime in on something they are not/know nothing of...You're not a trans woman, but you're feeling for this poor lady, no? wink

Lammie mentioned understanding how someone might be afraid to jump in...I'm sorry, I cannot, not in the least...I don't think I could stand by, no matter how much I was shitting my pants, and watch someone get their head kicked in. To watch that and not help is downright inhuman and those bitches are fuckin savages! Fuck them. Thank god for that older lady. My heart just broke watching how the trans woman wraps her arm around her leg. sad

Not to mention, had the victim truly fought back, they would've said it's like a dude hitting women whah wah wah...because that's just how fowl raggedy trifflin trash like these two savage bitches are.

I hope they are appehended and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I'm not sure how McDonald's deserves to be sued, though.

The employees and customers present all suck for not stopping the fight, but that was their personal choice. It wasn't their job, nor their responsibility, to do so. Violence like that is frightening and its something that most people would go out of their way to avoid being part of IF they ever witnessed it first hand. Not getting involved is a normal reaction.

Besides, I SERIOUSLY doubt that part of McDonald's training regimen is hand to hand combat. They're likely instructed to call the police and stay out of the way, and that's as it should be unless they want to get arrested or sued themselves.

But again, I do hope that they were caught and that the victim is OK so they can pursue as much legal action as possible AGAINST THEIR ATTACKERS.

No matter what they're reasoning for the attack it was still totally unacceptable. Just call the police. Its pretty simple.

Folk are some motherfuckers.

This shit is rampant.

When we were in Denver we saw a trans young woman get a bottle of some juice or something thrown at her. We were walking up the 16th St. Mall and she and her friend jumped off the train because some dudes were harassing her. She was crying as she walked off.

lol I'm not expecting anything. I expect very little from the human race in general. But all of my opinions posted in this thread still stand. I watched the entire thing... its one thing to get beat once, I have NEVER seen attackers walk away, make a phone call, smoke a cigarette, drink some water... and come back, and the victim is STILL there!

She could have been killed John... killed! Not beaten.... actually killed.

But, you are expecting that. Re-read your posts. You are bringing up why they stood around and stared and yet you seem to have no idea why, chalking it up to simply you being misanthropic or having a poor view of the world. However, this isn't simply ambivalence. It's bigotry. They knew it was a transwoman and that is why they did it. Thus, they felt she DESERVED it and no, they wouldn't help.

Not fighting back is actually a VERY common response to being attacked. Maybe even the most common. Most people don't have a clue how to fight OR defend themselves and they don't think fast enough to run away. The first thought is usually to drop and try as best you can to protect yourself in hopes the "predator" will go away. Pretty basic instincts.

Sorry, but can we please move away from blaming the victim for not fighting back? There's a rack of motherfuckers there and 1 person, ONE PERSON, steps in to help and its a fucking elderly woman. So let's back off the whole, I can't believe its not butter type of shit because people react differently in general.

That being said, the attackers are the ones who cared she is trans. That's why they did it. They knew, the employees knew (which is why they didn't help and then ENCOURAGED the attackers to make a hasty exit), and everyone staring at her having a seizure knew that this is a transwoman and is probably dying in front of them.

confused No dude. You're putting your own feelings on what I said as well as I what they did (or in this case DIDN'T do). I CERTAINLY didn't say ANYTHING like what you're interpreting me to have said. I don't care who or what it was, that IS basic human behavior. I've seen it happen with any combination of combatants you'd like to put together more times than I care to remember. In case you haven't noticed it was reported as a woman on woman attack. People just don't care.

people love to talk about how they'd react in certain situations, but passive reactions to violence (both from victims and onlookers) are probably the rule rather than the exception in my experience.
