are the certain parts that people mention shown in graphic and gory detail or not? sometimes it's when things are too graphic and gory they don't look real and lose impact, whereas tarantino used things where you don't actually see something happening to greater effect (ie. you don't see the ear removed in res dogs, you don't see the head shot in the car in pulp fiction)

there are scenes in the film that are definitely there to shock, and i have no doubt they will shock audiences. He shows everything and yet you're left feeling nothing. as you draw reference to, sometimes it's the power of what u don't see that has most effect.

personally i just felt slightly repulsed and annoyed by the whole thing. the director had no idea how to direct a scene of violence. it has no no heart, no feeling. no point. it is simply pornography of violence.

i'm quite obviously no film critic, if you're interested by film definitely see it, but it really is just exploitative shit

and sorry unique, i realise i didn't answer your original question. It's an incredibly simple plot that actually doesn't contain tha tmuch gore. Just 3/4 really unplesant scenes. Think Saw, but with children and sex. Not very nice.

And for the record the Saw films are shit. Well, the first one was a lot of fun, but after that..

Second of all, yeah! You clearly watched a different movie! Because there is not a damn thing "implied" about a woman grabbing a pair of scissors, cutting off a piece of her labia (clit hood, whatever!) and leaving a puddle of blood on the floor. In fact, that movie is one of the least "implied" that I've ever seen. Other than straight porn it's one of the graphic pieces of cinema in the history of the medium.

I remember watching Lamberto Bava and Dario Argentos "Demons" when i was a child and that was a gore fest. Loads of 80's fake blood/puss etc and killer fangs. There was something quite gruesome about the makeup and oozing blood of those days which is harder hitting than the digitally drawn horror of today. Cgi in moderation works, but in most cases they take it overboard

This happened in Ninja Assassin....there was so much gore and blood but about 7 minutes in...your brain gets accustomed to it and you can easily recognize the CGI so it becomes less shocking and just
