The thought of Spock and Uhura getting it on is sexy and alluring in a very creepy and disturbing kind of way. confused

I'll ditto you on those second two points, but not the first. Spock and Uhura was weird and unnecessary IMO. lol

I totally did not see it coming and when they kissed i was like eek WTF?
I could handle Kirk tryna mack on her but Spock? I was hoping for a little more than a kiss. You know, the gratuitous sex scene. And when it didn't happen I was much relieved. lol

Chris was hot but I was soooo turned on by Spock. I'm usually not that turned on by him when he plays Sylar but as Spock. Good lawd!!!!

It has to be the ears.....I have a thing for big ears. Especially if they stick out.

Christ, me too. New Kirk I thought was better looking overall, but he didn't turn my crank.

I don't have cable so I've never seen Heroes, and Quinto doesn't do anything for me when I've seen him in interviews as himself. But as Spock? drool

I'd ride that pointy-eared bastard 'til he stopped being so damned concerned about logic.

Quinto has the biggest nose and most deep set eyes I've seen on one face. Its a bit jarring at times. I can handle one OR the other but both on one face is just eek

As Spock he looks rather cute. I think its the hair and the east/west eyebrows.

Now Urban as McCoy? That was hot....I wanted to lick his stethoscope biggrin

Quinto does make a cute Spock. nod

But Urban as McCoy? He did a fine job and all, but the whole time all I could see was Eomer. I was sitting in the theatre like "They took his horsey away...." sad

falloff

I'm partial to him tho cuz I think he's fine and a much better actor than he's allowed to be. I mean he even had the Deforest Kelly hand gestures and tone of voice down. heart

But ahhh, the character he played in Chronicles of Riddick! Make ya wanna take of yer panties and say CHOW TIME!!!!!

Urban was great at mimicking what Kelly did as McCoy without making it seem like parody. That's no small feat for any actor.

Co-sign.

Well, I only saw the flick that first time, but I have to say i'm disappointed with it (overall). Actually with movies in general. In regards to this movie, it seems as if there isn't a dull moment. Every single moment of the flick they seem to be throwing shit at the screen ala Michael Bay. If it's not a lens flare, then it's a retractable samurai sword fight (really?). I guess i'm just used to the way OLD Trek used to be (from DS9 down) :shrugs:.
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Aw, man. I loved it. The folks in the theater I was in applauded at the end.

Loved the way it left itself an opening to continue, that would make sense to the old fans and encourage new fans. To me, that was storytelling.

Did it have any other option?

I guess not, though I hadn't really expected it to be a new avenue when I first went in I just thought it was one last spin on an old moneymaker, and I was ready to talk about it badly, too. But it didn't give me a chance, it shut me up in the first five minutes, I was too busy trying to keep up with what was going on.

My fifty (random) cents...

It's Star Trek bending the rules is what it does. Time travel and Star Trek go hand in hand, even the original had time travel, and Star Trek IV, seriously, that was reaching but it worked. I know for sure STNG, opened the door to alternate realities, so that's a given.

I liked it showed Spock and Kirk as a couple of little badass kids given the cultural differences, though they are different in many ways they are very much the same.

I had to laugh when it used that old skool gunslinger trick, the good guys in white, Entreprise's main bridge, I almost went blind it was so pristine and gleamy, vs the bad guys in black.

The flares bugged the heck out of me at first, then for some reason I got use to them and took them as a director's signature, didn't even notice them the 2nd time I saw the movie.

Granted Uhura didn't seem to do much, I have to admit I got very curious about her when Kirk got his butt kicked for just talking to her, those guys came off like they were her Italian brothers, I was like well heck, who is she suppose to be if a guy can't even hit on her without getting a beatdown. And the whole Spock and her thing came out of left field for me, big surprise, but I guess they've got to go where they couldn't 40 years ago. Personally, I'm glad it didn't turn out with her trying to pushup all on Kirk which is what the ads looked like. It's funny they showed her so "vanilla", in her tidy whiteys in contrast to her roommate, not the whole being green thing, her ensemble. I guess they had to have some cheesecake. Anyway, personally, I can see why Spock.

Spock's mom dead, I don't know, again it's Star Trek, Spock's been dead how many times, she was mid-transport as she's falling into a black hole, we'll see. She floating out there somewhere caught between universes. Who knows.

Funny how they fit in Scotty's love of food, spoofed him just a bit but it's okay.

I don't know where I got the idea that George Takei was suppose to be in it I kept looking for him, and was a little disappointed

They kept the tradition of the "unknown" crewman's fate. giggle that's so sad, well at least he went quick.

I'm getting the soundtrack, is it out, haven't looked yet?

I saw this movie this weekend (IMAX) ONLY because a dear friend is a Trekkie.

Another friend and I snuck ghetto-tini's in waterbottles into the theater.

I got into LOTS of trouble. 'nuff said.

Are these black holes contained only as the planet exist or is the alpha quad now have a black holes sucking the federation to bits?
