Poll: Who drives on "E" more -- guys or gals?

Of the people I know who drive cars, almost all the men typically drive on fumes while the women ensure their tanks are nearly always at least 1/2 full. Jeff Foxworthy was just on the Tonight Show and suggests that he and his wife are the opposite.

So what have you noticed? Any difference in how the sexes keep their tanks full? And why, do you think?

For my part, when I drive, the tank's almost always near empty.redface My wife freaks when the tank dips below 1/2.

I let my tank practically hit empty before I fuel up again. It drives my family crazy when they are in the car with me.

I keep telling them... "I know my car, we have at least 20 more miles worth, I am sure of it! Calm down!" lol

At this point, it is always touching the red beware line, the warning gas light even comes on, sometimes. No worries, gosh!

I have not ran out of gas yet. lol

my brother in law's car has a feature that tells him how many kilometers he has left even when the guage is on red. every damn time i get in that car there is next to nothing in the tank! pissed

my vehicle looks like it still has 1/4 tank but has that annoying "bing" to alert you to low fuel so i try to keep it well above.

I generally let the car get down to about 30-50 miles left before I refuel. I've never run out of gas.

I'll fill it when it goes below 1/4

the gauge is very unreliable I have learned.

I only fill my tank 3 times a year though lol

With me, it depends on how broke I am lol

I get paid every 2 weeks. The first week after payday, I seldom let it get below half full. After a couple days into the second weeks tho, it's getting pretty low. I've never run out of gas, but I've come pretty damn close...there's been a few times when I heard a hissing sound when I take the cap off lol

I used to drive on empty quite often, until the Yukon taught me what a bad idea that can be... These days I usually make sure I have a spare container of gas with me.

I used to. Until I ran out of gas, didn't know what happened and had it towed to the shop to find out what was wrong. lol

Don't you remember us running out of gas as we drove down the San Bernardino mountains? lol...I let gravity take over and we had just enough momentum once reaching the bottom to barely coast into a gas station... lol

Now THAT'S adventure driving, huh?... thumbs up!

I never let it get near that E.
One time,my gas light came on and I almost had a heart attack.
I was praying the whole way to the gas station lol

My guy drives on E. When I use his car,I usually have to fill up
And I hate it when he drives my car. He comes back with less than a 1/4 tank mad

Guilty!

I know that my gage can go under the red, NEED GAS LIGHT turns on, NEED GAS LIGHT turns off and turns on again. Then I still have about 10 miles to go.
