I thought I'd put this out there as I know some here are really good at graphic design and enjoy doing things like this, so I thought I'd put it out there.

I'm looking for art submissions for my new album entitled "Enter the Sound Capsule"

The reason for this “part 2” is that the original post only garnered a couple responses from Retina and charlottegelin who did some really good work and their work is being considered for inclusion. We are still looking for a few more ideas and we have a couple of more weeks than I originally thought. So we go to part 2

A bit of information regarding the album. It is electronic. It is an ambient/chill out Album with soft tones, lush organic sounds mixed in with the occasional beat.

We are looking for all types of media from graphic art to photography to illustration or a combination of the 3. It doesn't necessarily have to have text on it. Ideas we have bandied about are...a big pill that's split open and 2 figures are walking into it. Or a cracked open pill capsule and where there should be an opening is a speaker. My BF drew a picture I liked...it was a mixer and the cords coming out of it became vines and had little flowers with capsules in them....we like the imagery of organic/electronic mixed. These are really just the beginning ideas we have talked about.


Contest Rules:
Each person can submit in multiple pieces
No nudity or obscene pictures
It should be original artwork...we don't want any copyright issues
If chosen, we may ask for some digital manipulation or for the PSD file to do our own tweaks
NEW RULE: (not really a rule but a guideline) Pictures should be 5" x 5" and around 300 dpi.
When you are done...org note me and I will tell you where to send the file.
All artwork will need to be submitted by Feb 27.

The names of the songs also evoke some imagry...

Adift and a lift (WOrds evoke images of the sky and airplanes)


The person who we choose artwork from will win an Ambi-Sonic Package worth about $50.00. There is a possibility of there being several winners if we really like the submissions. Everyone who seriously participates will get something in return for their efforts. And on that note I want to personally thank Retina and Charlotte for their submissions.

Can I use existing stock-imagery if sufficiently tweaked beyond recognition?

I think the image needs to be 20% manipulated...what ever that means. Go for it. Just no pics of like Whitney Houston even if she's tweeked.

I could do this. Your ideas were very similar to mine - I had a pill split open and sheet music falling out of it rather than powder.

im workin on something, i started to toss around some ideas a couple weeks ago but got side tracked with some web design projects that came my way.

Hopefully i'll have something together within a week. Thanks for extending the contest.

Can you post the submissions here too? I am quite often in the process of designing album covers for some of the projects I am involved in or associated with, so I'd just like to see what other people will come up with.
