I think I saw an earlier video, but can not find. hmmm
not sure
it was a long time ago.
this video actually is April 30, 1973 (found on Wikipedia).
honestly, Michael is so small that I could not believe that he is almost 15 years old... and that his costume is so childish. lol

motown marketed him as 11 years old in 1971, so it makes sense that they would make him appear young

What does the interviewer say at 2:14 when Michael's laughing?

I am mamking subtitles to this video and I have few more questions:

What does Mike mean by "it's easy to look at" at the very end when he talks about that panther dance? Is that meant literally or does it have some idiomic meaning?

What does the interviewer say at 8:20 before Mike says "it has to be just right"?

What does Mike say after "Bob?" at 9:11 when they speak about Bob Giraldi?

What does the interviewer say at 9:44 when Mike's laughing after he says "I don't know the whole story"?

Thanks a lot!

When MJ said "it's easy to look at, It's simple" regarding the panther dance part in Black or White, I think he literally meant that it was a simple thing to look at, it wasn't a complicated/"find-the-hidden-meaning" type of piece, the point of the dance segment was pretty direct...aka easy to look at the point.

And I think @ 9:44, MJ goes "I don't know the whole story" and then some other guy(maybe MJ's publicist or whoever it was lol) said "You don't have to reveal it" and then MJ laughs, and then the interview goes "oh, well, great, but still that must, how did that make you feel...."

I still can't understand what he's saying after Bob Giaraldi..sorry!

In case anyone was wondering if any of the Jacksons were going to be prosecuted for their shenanigans this past summer....

JACKSON FAMILY
FIGHT CASE
CLOSED

EXCLUSIVE
072412_jacksons_launch
No one in Michael Jackson's family will be prosecuted over the fight last July at Katherine's home ... TMZ has learned.

As you recall, Paris and Prince got into it with Janet ... the video shows Janet confronting Paris and then apparently trying to get at her cell phone.

Paris then charged past Janet, who is then restrained by Randy. There was subsequently a physical confrontation ... we're told between Randy and Jermaine on one side, and Trent on the other.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the case is now closed because no one from the Jackson family would speak to cops. In fact, we're told none of them even returned various calls from detectives.

It seems there's been some sort of truce among family members.

I didn't appreciate it enough back then though I loved them, but MJ in this interview doing the shoulder thing made me soooo hyper, and when he said HI, I'M MICHAEL JACKSON.....and I responded with HI, ARE YOU A HAS-BEEN? I KNOW WHO YOU ARE, NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!! lol and thought he looked nice, sweet and warm and dorky-sexy all at once, and Prince in the Greatest Romance at the same was like wine but I couldn't admit it but his positions in the shadow poses were so hot, I was just watching it again and feeling hormonal!!! And I was like 16 when these came out but was trying to be such a good girl wink

*puts on Like a Virgin and a fan*

I'M A NICE PERSON!!!!

Oh goodness!! I'm on page 600 (the afterword like he calls it) I thought just like you, that it started off good but when you keep reading, it will get HORRIBLE! Not only is the author kinda racist, the statements he makes about black men (and then how he describes people, espically the mixed children as beautiful and desirable for MJ)

("If he couldnt erase Joe from his life, at least he could erase him from the reflection in the mirror" Michael experienced Joseph Jackson as coarse, violent and dishonest, seuxually reckless and hard-hearted. To some degree, he imputed such qualities to black men in general, bu he also fought aganist that tendency his whole life, and in the end overcame it. Since childhod, he had suffered from a fear of black men, he described as "big, tall, mean guys" and yet he dealt with it by surrounding himself with big and tall black men to work as his bodyguards. Reporter and self-described "family friend"Stacy Brown was probably correct when he said that Michael had insisted upon having white children because "he did not want to take the chance that a child of his would look like Joseph" But brown was overboard and off the mark when he added that Michael "hates people with dark skin" Anybody who ever saw him dance with James Brown knew that wasn't the case. The thing was about Michael though, was that he enjoyed dancing with Fred Astarie just as much. It was true that at Neverland Ranch Michael was sometimes openly disdainful of black people- or at least a certain class of black...." page 216 )

He also calls him asexual, he has no sources and even though some parts are quite interesting , like the ones when he's in Bahrain and what he was doing during the 00s, it gets so horrible with the other parts that go on rants about how MJ thought some boys were "beautiful" and how he never really felt that type of love with grown people. Ugh... I'm almost through with the book, but like I said - I can understand the hate MJ fans have towards it. IT SUCKS! lol

There are certain things in this book that im sure i will not like, and think nothing of. With any Michael Jackson book (except for Moonwalk) im always sceptical about some of the things i read. But i dont take it to seriously, and in most cases it adds an even a extra layer of "mystery" for instance i heard there is a part in this book that states michael had "a jar of prosthetic noses" (havent read that yet, just heard about it) i dont belive that to be true, but some of the things are very "howard houghes" like. Which is something Michael loved, and are undoubtably interesting. Michael was with out a doubt one of the most interesting people who have ever lived. I love hearing about Michael's personal life. i just read a part in the book that says Michael would stay in his bedroom at Hayvenhurst, like a mad scientist, studying, and disecting, constantly creating, he would sleep on a thick blanket next to the fireplace, i loved it! so unique,so magical, so Michael. i really hope this book continues to impress me, of coarse i wont believe everything that is written in this book, and it is fairly easy as hard core fans to debunk what is true and false..

It sounds like the author himself is afraid of black people and projecting all that on MJ. And I wonder why T-Mez is defending this book if that stuff is really written in there. Is there anything you read that would explain why?

If those kids weren't his, let's just play devil's advocate for a second, it would be cause he was worried about passing on his health issues like being worried about vitiligo and emotional issues. By the way, I don't believe Prince has vitiligo, and believe they all say that so people could stop questioning the paternity. I don't care if he's the biological dad or not, he IS their dad either way and raised them. And looking white in appearance doesn't mean anything, and it's their words, not mine.

I will never understand where do people get this argument from? He loved Diana Ross, James Brown, Sammy Davis, Stevie Wonder, Nelson Mandela etc. etc. WTF! How can anyone say it? I have never ever seen anything that would support that, unless you wanna believe he didn't have vitiligo and WANTED to be white. The whole notion he hated black, was ashamed of it..blah blah blah... is so stupid to me, it's incredible.

Very stupid and ignorant.

Michael had beautiful black women in his music videos, majority ALL of them were black. And he had really close black people in his lives and professed many times to being proud of who he was.

I just think people love to say that because they want to pin that on what they thought of Michael. Alphastreet also brought up a good point, the very people that claim that have a problem with black people or their own blackness. I dont see how anybody can honestly make all this crap in their head without meeting the person for themselves or knowing them personally neutral

I just think its so ignorant to just assume someone wanted to be white because their children. I am also so sick of the whole controversy over whether or not MJ is the biological father. He IS their dad and that is the only thing that matters, period

im currently on page 130, and havent found anything i havent liked yet, so far the author has stood by Michaels innocence and has painted a portrait of Michael as a very beautiful,unique/eccentric person. Im currently at a part in the book where it talks about Michael's stay in Ireland, and its so beautiful, him telling Prince and Paris and Blanket to "be on the look out for leprechauns". I really have just loved this book so far.

Community Haven resident James Waddell dances to a Micheal Jackson video on Friday. Attorneys from Jackson's estate sent Waddell memorabilia, including a sequined glove, after learning that he was a huge fan.

SARASOTA - James Waddell wears his shiny Michael Jackson glove on his left hand on vacation, at ballgames and practically everywhere else.

So of course Waddell asked for more Jackson music during a Christmas party last month that volunteers threw for him and other developmentally disabled residents at Community Haven.

He got his wish with a Jackson CD.

But the gifts kept coming for Waddell after he was featured in a holiday news story that caught the attention of the attorneys who administer Jackson's estate.

The Los Angeles attorneys recently sent a box of Jackson memorabilia, including a collection of concert DVDs, a Wii game and a T-shirt.

“Happy holidays and all of our best wishes for you in 2013!” said a letter written by a paralegal on behalf of attorneys John Branca and John McClain.

Waddell was, of course, delighted.

“He's Michael Jackson through and through,” said Kim Clark, a marketing coordinator at the Sarasota facility where Waddell, 46, has lived for 10 years. “Michael just makes him happy.”

On Friday, Waddell put on his curly black wig and a shiny red jacket that still had a No. 44 label from last year's Halloween costume contest.

Waddell showed off his new presents and listened to one of the concert DVDs in his living room.

Then he danced as if nobody was watching.

His feet shuffled on the carpet. He pumped his arms in the air and then shook his gloved left hand.

When Jackson took off his glove and flung it on the video, Waddell did the same.

A few minutes later, Waddell was still dancing as he headed to his job washing dishes at the Community Haven kitchen.NOTEStart

Thanks for the explanation.

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Very nice story. I also know of a group home resident that reacts really well to mj's music and shrek, he's in his 20's and the sibling of someone I know, but he's very childlike.

Well I kinda think there could have possibly been some issues with colorstruckness in the family. Shit runs deep

It really wouldn't surprise me if that were true and it would be naive to assume that racism growing up didn't affect michael, but it doesn't mean he didn't want to be black either.
