Jennifer Lopez Confirms New Album for 2013

January 04, 2013

Link

Jennifer Lopez has confirmed plans to release a new album later this year.

The singer celebrated the new year by telling her fans that she will be unveiling her tenth studio album in 2013.

"Anybody else excited about a new year starting!! I am!! #newheights #infinitepossibilities #Parker #Album10 #2013ismine #letsgetit smile" she tweeted.

So far, RedOne has confirmed that he will executive produce the record and has promised a "mix" of styles.

"I'm the executive producer of [Jennifer's] album, and we already have songs that are just incredible. It's just amazing. It's mixed [styles]. It's everything about Jennifer Lopez," RedOne told MTV News back in November.

"It's a very special album. It feels like this album, to us, has to have everything about her, not just one thing. You're going to have all the sides, kind of urban/hip-hop and the commercial, like the way she did with Ja Rule."

He added: "It's everything you love about her [including] the dance, the rhythmic, the Latin."

Lopez's new album will serve as the follow-up to 2011's Love?, which spawned the global hit ''On the Floor''.

These seem like such tough times to be an artist or producer.

its unfortunate that the cache that Lopez brings to her recording career is summed up by her physical appearance......being able to parley an ordinary, but serviceable voice and spotty music, not mostly of her creation, into a "musical career" which has unfortunately allowed her to be worthy of headlines for all of the most unimportant reasons....one of which is the picture above........is a disservice to those artists that actually have to put personal creative effort into their craft.....

Those artists lack the contrived sensationalism that Lopez has been able to survive on for so many years.....it is faint praise, but I guess it takes some measure of talent to be able to milk that for as long as she has..........what a world we live in.......

yeahthat

...because I seriously doubt, as much as her producer is hyping it, that there will be even one tune on her new album that will "do it" for me (not that I have any Jennifer Lopez music in my collection to begin with - although I really like her in movies). Nevertheless, I'll keep an open mind.

Honestly im tired of hearing the responses about her everytime she has an album, "oh she cant sing" " oh she isnt relevant" blah blah fucking blah. she is pushing 44 now, so its doubtful the KIDS are going to be down with her, also, MUSIC itself from anyone isnt relevant like it was even a decade ago, im tired of hearing about selling cause NO ONE SELLS, got it, NO ONE sells, so if you are looking for blockbuster hits and sales, from 99% of the artists coming out this year you are going to be sad

I remember a time, not that long ago, when I had at least a dozen or two favorite artists/bands, whose new albums I could not wait to be released. Although, I was never concerned about how those albums charted in regards to sales, it was instead about how they made me feel and move. In fact, much of my favorite music from back in the day rarely, if ever, even made it on the radio. Nevertheless, somewhere along the way, the magic of new music being released seems to have dissipated (…at least for me).

Lately, I have found more worthy gems in music that has been long since released, that I have yet to hear. Somehow, I am all into the Hard Bop genre right now; Grant Green, Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, Bobby Hutcherson, Duke Pearson, but also artists like Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery. Then, I’ve also been going deep into the catalogs of artists like George Duke, Earth Wind & Fire, David Bowie, and yeah; even Prince. With the exception of a few of these artists, I had never previously gone so deep into their productions before; so much of it is NEW to me, and thoroughly entertaining.

Still, I would love it if Jennifer’s new album came out and blew me away. However, if that does not happen, there is still plenty of stuff already out there, unheard as of yet by me, that will keep my toe tapping just the same.

I didn't see anyone mention sales. Truth of the matter is no one ever took
her serious as a singer. She basically made it as a dance diva and was pretty
much forgotten until American Idol breathed a little bit of new life in her.
Her return doesn't affect me one way or the other as I have only liked one
of her songs 10 years ago.

Agree with everything

However,

There are alot of female artists who sell their physical appearance more than their music.

This isnt anything new and Lopez should not be singled out especially in a industry that has this problem overall.

Your going to always hear these responses so long as these threads are going to be made here.

Some fault has to be given to the posters that make threads on these artists as well. Its obvious people are not interested and when these threads are made people just jump to complain and pretty much give the same ol jive. If you have overrated artists or no singing artists threads being made of course people are going to say "she cant sing" "shes overrated" and etc.

Yes, and one reason I watch shows like X Factor is that it's so SATISYFYING to see non-good looking people make good MUSIC on TV.

Carly Rose Sonenclar better get a deal.

And it's impossible for me or anyone else over here, I hope, to discuss a 13 yr old's looks!

Everybody knows that J.Lo's releasing music as a lossleader...

She for damn sure aint gonna make money off ot it...

but it keeps her in the papers, so she can flaunt that blatant homosexual she's been dating

And we could make fun of her about it

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams...

She she should be banned from the music studio just like Will Smith. Their names should be put on a music industry blacklist for life. Stay y'all asses OUT the music studio and stay IN the movie studio.

She used to be a back up dancer for Janet Jackson during the Velvet Rope. I wonder what her career would of been like if she had continued to persue a job in choreography. Would she have been the next Tina Landon?
