i am not a liar, you two. i dare say i'm a little older than you and i have heard the jacksons being referred to by some journalists as the black osmonds b/c i grew up in the mid to late 70s. i know whereof i speak. just like diana was referred to by some as the 'black streisand', as though she had no right to stand on her own as her own creation.

i am aware that the osmonds came after the j5. i have never said i agreed with the assessment of the j5 as being deemed to be in the osmonds' shadows. i have never said it was right. i have never said i was in agreement. i am painfully aware, however, that black performers, no matter how successful they are, tend to be relegated back further in the pecking order. as i said, you'll never hear a white performer being referred to as the 'white mj' or 'white stevie wonder'.

The problem I have with your statement and the statements in some other jacksons threads is there is no proof of such claims offered up. I stay away from 99% of these threads because the Jackson fans spreading mistruths.
